the Monarch yellow isn't my favorite color but it looks really good with the black stripe.

that is correct. i noticed a few *things* about it that made me decide to pass on it for now. i'm not going to "Tank" it but i feel that for the Asking Price the list of things to do should be a short one. dont get me wrong as i would not kick it to the curb for an oil leak on the garage floor, i DO like the car....maybe i am just to nit-picky.....

I might have to call him if the car is still available.I'd rather have that than my 72 HO GTO....

I don't care for yellow either, but could do it for the right car. I don't care for tan/brown interiors either, but could do it for the right car; but yellow and tan? I just can't go there. Too bad, nice car.

My thought, too. If that car had a white interior, it would be a lot more appealing.

Always great to see another one of these rare machines still around, though. There weren't any yellow on brown T/As in '72, that's for sure...

Excepting the MY paint, looks like a nice car.

Appears to still have it's OEM KRs on it as well. NICELY OPTIONED!

I like it. It is a weird color but that is what makes it unique. You see a lot of silver ones but I don't think I have ever seen a yellow one.

Here's a loaded MY HO Formy right here in Houston. Gay Pontiac car. 38K miles, numbers match. Cordova top, Honeys and F60s, and - no spoiler ever.

Seller wants $30K firm.

First - sorry to 'jack your thread, Rick.

Here's the inside scoop on the car . . .

It was purchased new here in Houston, and as far as we can determine has remained here all it's life.

At some point early in it's life, it was in a frontal collision. The endura, radiator support (incorrect, has the depressions for the '73 crash bars), fenders (incorrect, have the raised areas for the crash bars), grilles, etc. are all GM replacements. Parts stickers still can be seen on some of the replacement parts.

When my friend purchased the car it was wrecked in the LR quarter panel. Our best educated guess was that someone got the rear end loose (rookie driver with a BUNCH of torque and a posi diff) and whacked a utility pole. Unfortunately I have no photos of the car in that condition.

The rear glass was shattered, the quarter panel needed serious repair, the cordova top was ruined, the rear glass, LR wheel opening and LR cordova top moldings were trashed. The engine was out of the car and disassembled, but fortunately everything was still there.

My friend (40+ car collector) purchased the car and had his metal guy work his magic on the quarter panel. He resprayed the whole car and installed new cordova, glass and moldings. He completely rebuilt the engine and added a mild camshaft upgrade. Unfortunately (IMO) he installed a dual muffler exhaust system, but it's nicely done and he used the correct tips - and it sounds "OK".

As is typical on a '72 Q-Jet, it desperately needs to be re-calibrated for modern fuels. It's WAY too lean on the primary side. Easy fix, but my friend sold the car before I had a chance to re-calibrate the carb for him.

The entire interior - even the carpeting - is original. It's quite the time capsule.

Nice car, I just can't get past the color personally.

The car is still here in Houston.
