I posted a similar question in the Year One RII thread asking for anyone that had success putting these wheels on an a body. No response.

I think the issue is that the rears wont fit unless you have a narrowed rear end. Do a search. One of the guys in the 66-67 section tried it and ended up selling the wheels because they needed 3/4" more offset inward to work. He had pics and everything.

Yea that was Phil. The thing that kills me is that they show a 67 vert on the website and I did find a pic of a car of the same year online with the wheels that was for sale a while back. Looked REALLY nice. The description of the car didn't give any info as to what if anything was done to the rear end.

I'm going to call Y1

No reason the Year One Rallye II's in 17" will not work on your 66 or 67.

The rims in either 8" or 9" wide size have zero offset. So 4.5" backspacing and 5" backspacing accordingly.

Just get a taller profile 17" tire (like a 50 series in back) and it will look and work great.

Their rims fit. There is plenty of room for them in the rear too. Only way I can see there being an issue is if you have aftermarket disc brakes on the rear that push the wheel offset out towards the wheel well. Then the 9" wide rims could get close to rubbing the outside lip.

But on a stock rear end, drum brake 66/67 GTO, no problem with either size.

66' and 67' have a different stock rear axle width

Yeah, 67 rear ends are 1" wider.

8" wide rims clear without an issue.

9" should clear.

I ran 18x9.5" wide rims in a 67 with no problems with 0 offset.

But with 50 series tires on a 17" rim may have to stick with an 8" wide rim in a 1967.

The other thing about big wheels is that you can usually get a nice front brake in there but another issue with these wheels is that they dont clear big brakes very well. I don't think you can fit a 13" brake setup in there. You might be able to squeeze a wilwood 12.19" setup in there but If I remember correctly C5/C6 stuff, TRSD signature series etc wont fit.

After some talks with a few of the other GTO guys, Im going to go with a full chrome rim. Not sure which one yet but Billet Specialties is top on the list. The backspacing isnt what I want on the Year One wheel.

The reason you can't fit C5/6 brakes in some wheels is interference between the caliper and the spokes not always the diameter, but id does have to be checked, the Willwood 12.190 fits no problem I know our 13" front brake kit with Willwood Superlite calipers fit YO raII wheels

That would be a C4 based brake kit if it fits, but you end up with a lesser caliper and a thinner rotor than the C5.
One thing that should be kept in mind is that Corvette brakes were engineered for 3400# cars with ABS and some of the best production suspension available, putting Vette brakes on 4000# dinosaur car is not going to make it a Vette
...I know ...I know it's better than the stock drums.....

theres full pictures of that car around somewhere. The skinny tires and the low profile or lack of rake does nothing for me. The redlined look out of place

Ill tell ya that solidified my thoughts on going with that wheel. Its a nice wheel but doesn't match the color of the car. Mine is the same color.

Im going to run TRSD signature brakes. Basically 2002 Mustang Cobra PBR calipers and C4 28mm d/s rotors. From the OEM, those Cobra/Vette brakes were designed to reliably bring a 3400 lb-3800lb car down from 150-175mph. 99% of the cars on here or anywhere for that matter will never see that or anywhere close. From everything ive gathered they are lightyears better than drums or the old D52's and should pull my 4000 lb GTO down much faster at any speed and darn near throw me through the windsheild on an autocross hard brake.... if the tires hold.....most guys forget that. Tires are usually the final say in braking systems.
