What are the correct stripes for a '66 GTO stepped driveshaft for a 4 speed manual transmission? Colors, location, width, etc. Is the driveshaft painted or unpainted?

The stripe description can be found in the '66 service Manual.
I saved this from an older post. It wasn't an exact type layout but this will get it within the factory location for ID.
Most original cars I've come across had unpainted shafts.
I used a satin clear coat on mine and it's holding up well.

My car is a 400/335 4 speed in the third year of a rebuild. I have had the car since 1968. My drive shaft has the stripes you describe. Starting form the centerline of the u-joint shaft on the transmission end, it is 14 1/4 inches to the red stripe which is 1 5/8" wide. Then there is a space of 1 1/2" then a white stripe that is 7/8" wide. Both stripes have sharp edges which means they must have been masked and painted on. Hopes this helps.
