Default What happened to my e-brake?

I can use some help with my e-brake. We did an engine swap so the e-brake cable was loosened at the equalizer, and c hook removed, underneath the car to remove the crossmember, transmission etc. Nothing was done in the interior; to the handle under the dash, pedal or original cable under the car.

So the car is now back together and the problem is I have way to much slack in the cable underneath now, with both the equalizer and hook connected. The pedal is at the top and not depressed. Any ideas? All thoughts are welcome. Thanks

Joe

Did you do a transmission swap also or is it the same trans? The crossmember goes in different locations for auto or manual and also uses different length cables

I think you may have two holes in the crossmember and you are in the wrong one.

Did it slip out of the wire/clip retainers on the L&R floor board [not shown in link image]
this will add slack as well.

OG, That looks to be the PONTIAC layout,
The TEMPEST layout is below, the clips I'm referring to are seen as view E
They are bolted to the L&R floor brace and if the cable slips out or clip breaks you will get slack. Ask me how I know

Yep, that's it, couldn't find it in the manual. Probably didn't look far enough!
Where did you find it Jeff?

Thanks for the great pics! This board provides awesome support for the hobby. Sorry for the late response, just getting back in from traveling. Just beat the latest storm out of Chicago for the West Coast, last night. With the help of these pics, I should be able to locate the issue.
