Default KICK DOWN SWITCH

...thanks!..yes, extremely lucky...actually 20 + years ago I thought for sure I would replace it when I saw that they were coming out with new ones...yeah right?!..20 + years and they still don't stock them...I have learned to appreciate my original and I cannot imagine the work involved installing a replacement..there was 2 cigarette burns on my original console..but fortunately that was one of the extra parts in a GM box stuffed in the trunk in 1985...since I am upgrading to a deluxe interior I need to add the crash handle...I am still on the fence regarding that?!...I thought one day I would start a thread and ask everyone have they ever seen a deluxe interior where the assembler forgot the dash handle??..then I could explain it missing!!..

It's actually the kickdown switch...for a TH400 trans (ALL GM cars in the 70's with TH400 got them) and in 72 it doubles as the shaker flap switch....

I don't remember seeing that on my 71 transmission pan. Maybe its there and I just don't remember. Thought it was cool to see. Hardly anybody includes the word hydramatic when talking about these old transmissions. They say Turbo 400 or 400 Turbo...?

Thought I'd ask the parts dept. here. Really was just wondering if it was on all of them or just 1972.

....well I started at the fuse block and I will say it worked out nice..hopefully some of my pics show how the harness wire fits behind the space where the windshield washer motor is..then I dropped the wire that runs down to the transmission ...a clip on the M40 secures it...it should orient itself when you then run the wire across the drivers side valve cover..you want the harness to look right up against the fire wall...then I brought that next harness wire to the passenger side and ran that up to the a/c..here is a photo of the wire uninstalled...it will be interesting if these companys are exactly the same as to how they make them..I will say this..the harness fits perfect...no extra slack..one wire did pull out of a connector as if it had not been pinched hard enough...I need to address that( a connector for the washer motor)...other than that it fits like a glove..I posted athread, but no replies yet..I am installing a unitized distributor and this is the correct harness for it...I need to be certain I am hooking up the starter correctly....all of my connectors are idiot proof, in other words they will only go on one way..455 H.O.COM has information on a engine harness install too..I am going to check that out again and compare...my T.C.S. connector has the correct resistor just like factory..important that goes on correctly...in NJSTEVES thread he said he had a 50/50 chance and got it wrong the first time!!...so I need to get it right!!..it should go no problem...took an hour today...and an hour to finish the M40 and a/c tomorrow and hopefully the starter!!!Click image for larger version

I like the look of those bezels. I wish they'd have stuck with them longer.
