Default 68 GTO Accelerator linkage Color

Anyone know on a 68 GTO what color the accelerator linkage is? This is the linkage that attaches to the gas petal and the throttle cable below the dash.

Not sure of the correct terminology for the plating(black phosphate?),
but it is the same finish as the hood hinges. It is a charcoal gray looking plating.

Two things in response. Hood Hinges should look more black than gray when properly finished. After decades of exposure, especially to sun light, the finish can appear more grayish. The throttle finish - been too cold for me to go look; however, from pictures I can see online the finish does appear to show the same type of fading to gray that would indicate a phosphate finish vs. black zinc
