A fellow PY member called me on Saturday and told me what was going on with Mike. Like others here I was momentarily stunned. I have never met Mike that I know of but have always thought highly of him. His level headed posts, his willingness to answer questions and his apparent dedication to his family are commendable. My older brother, who got me into Pontiac's in the first place, succumbed to cancer just over 10 years ago. So I hate it whenever I hear someone else has this battle to fight. There are lots of things that are out of our control. Keep up the good spirits and keep up updated when/if you feel like it. Wish you all would quit talking about those cookies as you are making me hungry. Like so many others I too have made a donation.

OMG, this shook me bad.
Having a health issue the past year which they haven't found a reason yet.
Down from 180 lbs to 140. Eat like a pig, and still look like a stick person.
Plus my wife is having different health issues. Wish could do more.
Mike, you are in my thoughts and prayers buddy.

Region Warrior you take care of yourself, Mike is in good hands. He's not up for talking on the phone much, but if you send him a text or Facebook message he'll read it.
If you need anything let me know!

I haven't logged into PY but a handful of times in the last few years (just been busy with life - married, kids, work, the usual). And I don't remember ever having talking with Mike on the forum posts - but my heart goes out to him and his family. I'm glad I did log in today so that I can in some small way help...

We lost my wife's mom to cancer mid last year and it crushed my wife. Related, I lost my dad when I was 13 in a sudden accident -- so I relate to what he's worried about with his kids. Through perseverance and love I'm sure his family will be OK no matter what and I hope Mike takes whatever comfort he can in that. And while they wait for perseverance to kick in, I'm donating what I can spare to the paypal account.

Best to you, Mike!

I've not known what to say as every time I look in this thread it royally breaks me up. If there was a way I could ease Mike's and his family's pain I'd do it heart beat. But alas I can't. Know that we think of you every day Mike and will keep on doing so. You and those others from PY will not be forgotten.

Here's to you Mike, someone we've all looked up to and admired. To all here and Mike this is a tribute to the fallen of our military, But I also feel it's a dam good tribute to Mike as well.

Mike is in the hospital, Ball Memorial, I'll work on an address.

They are already working on hospice for Mike, and the Doctors are giving him less than two months...

Mike has spent 17+ years here on PY helping anyone he could with tech answers and performing his moderator duties. He's also spent a considerable amount of time with the POCI over the past few years as well, now its time for us to give back and help out a Pontiac Brother in his time of need.

Mike has three young sons and no life insurance and is worried about leaving his kids in debt with his funeral expenses. I'll post an address tomorrow and see if there is a PayPal account to make things easier to help Mikes kids. Mike has been one of my best friends for the past 20 years, I'm shocked, saddened with a heavy heart and at a loss for words so please excuse me if this doesn't make any sense.

Please, give what you can, everything helps.

Mike:

What goes around, comes around. I remember your concern for Rick Phillips (dyingbreed) after his accident. That's how I feel about your problems.

I'm in.

Myself, Paul, Rob, Carole, and Dale had a great visit with Mike tonight. Had a chance to meet Mike's girlfriend Chris and one of his best friends, Troy. Great folks that are taking excellent care of Mike. Not sure where to really start, but Mike is good! He is at peace with everything and ready for the next chapter. Had good discussions, told good stories, talked a lot about the great folks in the Pontiac hobby. As Mike said more than once during our visit..."good times". More details to come regarding all the great folks in this hobby and Mike's wishes. Love ya man!

Don't sell yourself short. Those weren't Washingtons you sent. You must have your presidents mixed up. Thanks for your help. It is deeply appreciated.

While I do still come here occasionally to see what's for sale or read some of the threads, it's been a long time since I actually logged in to post. Over two years in fact "Last Visit 02-01-2012". Since I've gotten out of the old cars and more into the Harleys, I just didn't have much to say on here.

I found out about Mike only last night. We only live 30 miles apart, and while it's been a time since we hooked up, he has been at my house many times, as I have his. This hurts to see him having to deal with this kind of thing. My dad passed 3 years ago from colon cancer. I did the scope shortly after.

Count me in for a match, And for prayers from the Lynn, Indiana area. Only wish I could do more.... I'm a fixer.... just want to fix this.

Mike was Mike last night! That is what we all expected. No disappointment there! He looked good, actually much better in person than a few of the pics I've seen online. We're making plans for the future and had a great time bench racing. At times it was easy to forget he was even sick. Great visit and I look forward to going up again soon.
