Awesome cars guys!! Going to pick up a clean 400 block tomorrow. Contemplating my build... 455, 461 ??? The 326 w/th350 has been fun but time to get serious. I'm pumped about putting some more power to the wheels.

Thanks guys! Stopped at a buddies on the way back from picking up a standard bore '68 400 block for my build. All highway 4.5 hours round trip ... Sure am gonna miss those 2.56 gears. You can see the rear end squatting from the block, crank and misc parts in the trunk.

I like the color of your goat, the guy I picked up my block from yesterday had a 67 gto on a rotisserie in his shop, original gold-gold car. He was contemplating going back original or not, I told him DO it. I think newer gold cars are ugly jmho but I've always loved the old gold cars. Growing up, my neighbor restored a 68 gold gto vert. I thought that was the coolest car ever.

just curious...what rear space on those wheels? Nice car. You can't put an engine in the back of any new car.

67 Lemans that I cloned myself, but wont be badged as a GTO. It started because I didn't like the Lemans tail lights, then wanted the hood, then didn't want to drive a "bad clone" so I cut and patched in the gills. Just back from the body shop this week where I changed from a faded dukes of hazard orange to a dark black cherry. I have been working on it for a few years to cut out the rust and install a new trunk and lower wheel wells and to get it mechanically sound. It has a nice sounding 455 with TH400 and stock suspension (for now). I also replaced the rusty headers with RA manifolds and put on 18" wheels with 275's in the rear. It could go on forever, but I think that I am at the point where I could take it to a few local shows.

I love the look of the RI's and II's but just wanted something different but still classic looking. What stroker are you building? |

Chadmokc...to measure rear space put a straight edge on the flat part of the inner wheel lip and measure to the wheel center where it bolts to the drum, disc.
