Default Expert says what?

Quote:[the T/A is complete..it has a 73 SR motor..its a numbers matching car.

You are sadly mistaken. Your car will never be a matching number car unless you find the original VIN stamped YB block your car left the factory with. That's what numbers matching means. SR means its NOT the original.

Just correcting another wrong statement. If the numbers on the block don't match the cars VIN number, that means it is a NON-numbers matching car. You stated you have a numbers matching car. My point is quite clear. Your is not. This website is for correct, useful information for others and when you make false statements we are all happy to correct you.

Just stating facts. Your 1 1/2 years experience shows. Maybe you should spend more time reading and learning instead of typing and telling people what an expert you are. How's the job search going? I really enjoy your pictures of bolts and nuts. That's what I have been waiting for all these years.

Lighten up Francis. Playing the old "I was just kidding- I didnt mean it" trick again eh? Dont get mad at me because YOU typed that you are an expert. Dont get mad at me because you dont have a matching #'s car. Your Ignorance has been duly noted and your personal attacks on long time respected and experienced individuals on this board is also duly noted. Do yourself a favor. Think before you post something. Please keep it related to 70-73 Firebird and Trans Ams. (PS- I'm not that fat. I'm short for my weight)

Glenda LaDouche, I'll be glad to help you. Give me your address. (Sorry to all you other guys that got dragged into this. You still don't understand Numbers Matching do you. Well, the rest of the world does. You randomly spew your diarrhea from your mouth and befoul decent people. I tried to be nice. But you have now crossed the line. Are you aware that most of Canada has pictures of you wearing nothing but their Flag with your 1/8th scale Chewbacca action figure hanging out youra. posted on the wall in all the local Pubs? Are you illiterate too? Color is spelled without a "u" here in the USA. I can clearly see why your Brother is 'Hostile' to you. I want to meet you and shake your hand to congratulate you on being the most pathetic Moron I have met so far. Keep typing and I'll keep correcting your mistakes. Keep up the job search, your going to need it.

Oh, I'm just kidding!!!! APRIL FOOLS!!!!!!!
Welcome to the board Glenda! How may I serve You????

Guys - there is no winner here. You and the whole Forum are losers when things degenerate to this point. I'm not going to cast stones, because I am sure that I have said some inappropriate things on the Forum that have hurt peoples feelings, but the reality is that this whole "Who shot JR" diatribe has run its' course. I offer encouragement that everyone step back and think about what is really important in life. Trashing comrades who love Pontiac cars is probably not on that list.

This is your opportunity to step away. What you do is your responsibility and not that of any other.

Yeah... this will only get worse if it keeps going. Let's just take a deep breath, relax and get back to helping each other out in our shared hobby. No one knows everything. People make mistakes. Best to be humble, try not to offend and choose not to be offended. The forum is a place to share information, learn new things and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts. Okay?

as far as I am concerned its over, I am going back to where I left off..this thread is about me putting my car back together..I am well aware everyone does not always get along..but I am grateful for all of the positive input that I have received and the proof is the car as it is now, before I joined the forum...I could not have done it without the help and photos posted by other forum members...looking forward to getting it started!! thanks!

Bob.. and nothing personal about my next comment.. but ... never include me in a group calling themselves "comrades". I'm old enough to know and recall comrade is a uniquely communist word. Sorry but it chaps my a$$ when I see media describing members of our military as comrades. And to see your comment about us being comrades just hit a nerve.I know you are old enough to remember ....

As far as the usual diatribe from 72TA... looks like Glen has been drinking again or took too much of his medication.. I agree it will go no where, never does.. but the sarcastic side of me almost enjoys seeing this every other day meltdown..

yea..Bob..pls don't take my ranting personal.. it was more of a comment of how comrade has sneaked into our society as an accepted word to use when history tells us it represents much that we dispise. So pls. understand that was not directed towards you per see. I now sort of wish I hadn't made that post.. no hard feelings Bob.. ok..

Default GETTING THIS THREAD BACK ON TRACK

I received a couple of PMs and they were all positive and stating to ignore the negative comments and that the photos are appreciated...I admit every photo cannot always be a winner...but the purpose of this thread is to show what goes where and what hardware was used on my car...nothing would please me more than to have another super low milesClick image for larger version

ID:	359085 72 TRANS AM thread (especially that 5k mile S.C.C.A T/A) to compare too...I really would like the engine compartment to be as complete as possible..if there are things wrong its only that I do not have anything to reference it to...every single item under the hood is not N.O.S. and when I can get my valve covers professionally painted I will add them...positive input is always welcome and if someone sees something wrong let me know and if I can I will change it...considering the fact that like others, my car was missing some key underhood items and some plumbing was not hooked up...all of this has changed and if it was not for the photos of other members cars and there input and parts it would not be where it is now..still wondering if 1972s got the shaker ground clip attatched to the passenger side carburetor bolt...thoughts?!

ID:	359090 leather wrapped wheel and on the P.Y. early style repop Fomula wheel is that the counter sink for the hex head screw is not countersunk enough for the screw to sit flush like the original GM Formula wheel...I do plan on using the Lecarra so this problem will need to be fixed

Default UNDERLAYMENT

this is the tar paper style underlayment...I stll do not know why they cannot make the sane product and cuts & sizes 40 years later...since I still have some original underlayment I needed massive trimming...will be interesting how the carpet installs..will this really sound proof?..the carpet will have a jute padding..if this stuff interferes with the carpet...I may take out the underseat pieces and see how it isClick image for larger version
