I think the combo is more at home on a Bonneville but it's not a strange combo when it comes to matching colors.

It was not uncommon on 68 GTOs using Ivy Gold.
My "Gold" top is really a light olive green (by my old 68 standards) and cant recall code but mine was Ivy Gold Interior. Back when I did my 68 GTO vert in the early 90's, I had to have a top custom made with NOS material since all the aftermarket had the color wrong or didn't offer it. I found NOS material and shipped the shop in NJ (iirc) the original rear glass and they did a super job. A low miles #s car with some history (human interest story) Seemed like a good idea at the time....$$$$$...NOS wood wheel, Rocker Trim NOS and every chrome part was re-plated including original valve covers, window vent channels, dash bezel, headlight surround trim.....and more. Yes, the car had wire wheels...lol... and I "restored" them by hand. I sent out one chrome (round PMD Lucite piece) of the "wheel covers" for chrome re-plating and then a lot of time on cutting, polighing the rest of the parts (SS spokes and rims). Sold it to a super nice ex PY member who added some nice options. Last picture. ![]() ![]()

That's a pretty car. I remember one very similar to it in the downtown Atlanta area 30+ years ago. It was driven by an elderly lady, usually with the top down. The license plate read 'MY GOAT' or something like that.
