As I am somewhat larger than I was in 1963 when my parents bought their Lemans 326 convertible, I found things a little cramped behind the wheel of our newly acquired convertible. After some investigating I came across this item at Year One:

These 4 black powdercoated brackets are predrilled, and come with threaded holes and hardware to bolt your bucket to them. Install took maybe 1 hour, and I achieved a 2" increase in leg room, just what the doctor ordered. They may be available from other vendors. At any rate, a simple, inexpensive solution which makes our '63 much more comfy for me. I also added a few washers under the front legs to give the seat a little more rake.

I never objected to the leg room in mine, but always felt like the top corner of the A Pillar was in my face....

Have to give this a try.
