69 Firebird convertible in Florida at $28.5K BIN. I'd have to see it in person, but damn. It won't last long if it's real.

What steering wheel is that?

79 Trans AM in Texas at $8.5K BIN. I'd pass on this one. The most redeeming quality of this car is the outside. Put some clear on it and leave it alone. 403 is a dog and interior is trashed... but it is there, so there's that.

This car has seen the eBay pages many times. 69 Firebird convertible in Texas with a reserve. I love the dog dish look, but priced too high to meet the reserve.

69 Judge in NC at $97K. For that much money, a new steering wheel, valve covers and removing the air cleaner sticker would have been the direction I'd go. Pretty car.

The wrong shifter too . Almost 100k seems a little high for a car that needs those things squared away. How and why do people who have a car ‘restored’ miss those details? Stupid air cleaner decal and the cheesy wood wheel on such a cool car, just baffles the brain

66 GTO convertible dealer car in Illinois at $56K. Pretty. Pretty sure I saw a receipt from Bethel's Goat farm. I used to buy some rare stuff from that place prolly in the late 80's. This was before the internet, and you would buy a catalog of their parts in CA.

81 Trans AM in Ohio at $25K BIN. Nice car with a cool color scheme. Very fair price for this czar and I don't think it'll last long. The WS6 cars handle really nice and those beautiful red seats are comfy.

I really like this one. Good color combo, deluxe interior, cool steering wheel, Bird glass, no stupid air cleaner decal, doesn’t call it a big block, correctly calls it a ST300 trans, good price. Won’t ding them too hard for red wheel centers and engine color, although that intake on a 350 is a dog down low. All easy fixes Winner Winner Firebird Dinner!

69 Judge in NM at $20K BIN. One pictures of what's left. NOM and a lot missing. I'd pass at that price.

70 GTO that sold pretty quickly a few weeks ago is back at $15K NR in CA. Car look stock, but I;'m pretty sure the steering wheel isn't original.

Seems high IMO with all that it needs. It is a CA car, so the rust on the trunk lid and behind each wheel needs to be fixed, but that looks like it may have been caused by being too close to the ocean at some point. I don't know much about identifying the severity (or cost associated with it) with rust repair, but it is all there.

Let's assume $4K for bodywork.

The interior is trashed. New carpet, seat covers and headliner (professionally installed), so let's assume $5K for that.

The car only has 46K on it and it runs. Tune it up and leave it alone if it runs. If it breaks down, then rebuild it. I think a lot of people over-restore cars by rebuilding the engine when it doesn't need a full rebuild. Add shocks and maybe brakes and fix the leaks. I'm not including tires and wipers and all that.

Let's assume low here at $2K.

Starting at $19.2K, that puts you at $30K (and I think I'm on the low side with the above estimates) and that's without paint or all the small things like the rusted chrome. For what you can get for $40K, I think I could do better. The colors on the car aren't the selling point IMO. Brown cars are rare, but I think they're rare for a reason. I love red interiors, but most people don't. Most don't like green either, but I love all the bright Pontiac colors, including a brown interior. That 69 RAIV GTO that pops up occasionally looks amazing in brown, because it adds to its rarity. If you want a restored brown car that's NM, then the price is right. If you're going to do color changes, then I then I'd probably pay more for a car that needs less work. The car started at $15K without a reserve, and that was about right.

77 Trans AM in Michigan at $30K BIN with 32K miles on it. You don't see many brown ones. No engine pics is odd.
