Any Billiard Cue Experts?
Tenants moved out of a relative's rental property and left behind a 2 piece billiard cue.
The butt end is marked "Mali Cues by CueSport". The upper shaft is unmarked. Scant info on the internet other than they are out of business. I was wondering if the two halves might be from different manufacturers since there appears to be a slight thread mismatch and they don't want to screw together. I assume the thread clearance should not be abnormally tight?

should not be abnormally tight, more important is the mating surfaces of the two halves are parallel so when snugged down the entire cue is one straight line.
Don't recognize the name, either. George

Depending on the laws in your state, (and I'd wager that Illinois is very tenant friendly), there may be a period of time that you need to hold items before you can sell them/use them yourself.
Also - it's a good bet that if they left it behind, it isn't worth anything.

If it has all that writing on it other than just Mali, it's probably a newer, junkier version. The old sticks were quality made.

Yes, first priority is to see if the tenant wants it back.
I'm just used to the pool cues that you see at the bar pool table. Never realized nice ones cost hundreds of dollars or more. Agree it's probably mismatched parts. Had to get it out of there since the townhouse is being sold. Good tenants, no idea why they left it behind unless as mentioned, it's not worth anything.
