Default The new CNC chamber E-heads

For those that didn't know, Edelbrock came out with a new CNC chamber round port for us to play with. It has a more modern heart shaped chamber that looks pretty nice. The rest of the head is the same, but now you can get a chamber that wasn't designed in the 60's. 61515 and 61525 are the numbers for the complete heads, 72 and 87cc.

These are going on my 474 and back in the car in a couple of weeks, so I'll be able to post updates about the timing needed and performance. I'll run these as "Out of the box" for the rest of the year, then send them off next spring for porting.

Anyone know the best way to get 4 years of dust off a car?

Don't be concerned with the dust on the car, concern yourself with the rust on the driver.

Good luck with the car and getting back out.

Does E-Brock give you any flow numbers ? If I scratched my head enough maybe I could remember them. Do like that chamber shape.

The old, normal heads flow 275ish on the 87cc and 28x with the 72cc chambers.
Its been said that the new chambers will help the flow, but Edelbrock doesn't list a difference in numbers.

Tmoney, these are only on the CNC heads, the old chamber is still available, if someone would want it.

David-

Are they new chambers on the original e-head?
Any differences in the port?

Are you going to flow them?

They are the same head with a CNC'd chamber added.
You can't tell from the outside if the head has the new chamber or not.

I'm not going to flow these at this point, but will before they are ported. Everyone that has seen them things they are much improved.

Mike, the KRE and both E heads (D and Round) have heart shaped chambers, but when compared side by side they are all different. Which one is better, that's a good question. I think the majority of these heads will be modified so it will just depend on the guy holding the grinder.

More than anything I think it just gives the porter a head start and a better base to start with.

And it probably gives the guys not wanting to weld then machine a better chamber than a generic one. Got to remember most of the E heads are on street/strip type machines not full tilt race motors.
