Do a search fellow PY'r is Dan Barton he is in Houston. He knows his stuff.
Also USA Racing Engines on Dillon Street in Houston. Contact Chris or Bruce 713-645-4000. Also PM skip fix as he lives on the west side of Houston and he knows a lot of engine builders down there. |

You might call the guys over at Westside Performance and Machine. (713) 465-7996
They did all the machine work on my 462. I've been real happy with the results and the pricing was reasonable and the turn-around time was as well.

Lots of choices here in Houston and lots of opinions on those choices
![]() Dan Barton has left Westside and gone to Naiser racing still doing heads. They can do engine work there also-leaning towards race type motors(sheet metal intakes aluminum blocks all over the place(I did get them a Pontiac block for mock ups). http://www.naiser-racing.com/ Westside has done some work for me,dynoed two motors there. G&G up in Tomball has done work for me for years Pontiac stock blocks and my IA, and my 409/470 final work. I know local Pontiac guys who have had issues with both, but others with good results. USA racing is another some of the Texas Pontiac racers have used-the Clegg's(Super Stock racers) over in Victoria use them for their Pontiac motors but Nickens for the big corporate BBC style motor in John's car. http://www.nickensracing.com/ Another shop down in Pearland some of the guys have used, as well as Faerman's on Pinemont.

I helped Russell remove an engine that G&G had to rebuild twice because of poor workmanship.
My last and only engine that G&G did was not align-bored properly and resulted in my having to source and buy a replacement block along with another set of billet main caps. |
