Our new member and Ram Air II GTO owner is having difficulty getting a post through.
But he is trying. They have new requirements for new members of PY now - i think they have to approve posts first. A lil bit more info - it IS the Car / Owner that Brian and i were trying to track down from the old post i found on HPP website. Some prelim briefings from owner - " build date is 5/29/68 out of Pontiac...what is cool about that is my birthday is 5/28 . I have build sheet that was found under carpet by drivers seat. Also paper work from PHS. ... 38 yrs I have owned this car. Heck I was 22 yrs old when I picked it up long haired hippie blowing off big block Chevys and Ford's or what ever else was around back then...lol " This is going to be pretty damd Kool - - i do believe |

This is the latest running total.
If i missed anything - or you know of anything concrete - please advise. At last report - PHS has filled requests for 23 separate Ram Air II GTO's 4 of those have been Convertibles. Unknown how many of the 23 were cars - or just engine blocks. We do know that likely 3 at minimum - were just engines 1. Convertible Black- Black top- Gold interior - 4spd Unrestored excellent survivor - high option - 56k miles Sold at Mecum for 165k in 2011 or 2012 Documented BHC on PY 2. Convertible Burgandy- White top- White interior - 4spd Being Frame Off Restored - well optioned John in Ohio Documented BHC on PY 3. Convertible Gold - Gold interior - Blk top - Automatic Low mile survivor with cosmetic resto Rob L in Illinois documented 4. Convertible Red - Blk top - Blk interior - 4spd Mark of Mich. his cousin bought it New. Been sold. 5. Blue - Blue interior - Automatic Numbers match, intact survivor Gary Oklahoma documented 6. Just wanted to point out -
out of the 23 cars documented by PHS we have ourselves accounted for... 16 verified 2 unverified 3 engines (VIN) = potentially 21 units of the 23 Wasn't the grand total something like 199 4 speeds 47 Automagicals |

Not a high survivor ratio but no stripes & no wings so nobody knew they were special.

Kyle suggested that I call the guy who was at the Summit show but I'm kinda shy about calling folks I've never met and asking about their rare automobiles...
If I ever get to one of those cruises, I'll certainly try to meet him though.

This car was back last night. Unfortunately I got there late and was only able to stay a few minutes. Did not see the owner. Greg, I also sent the contact info to BVZ. BVZ, have you been able to reach the owner to confirm or deny?

Man, that is a tough looking car. Rally I's, Factory 8-track, straight shift and no console.. Sure would like to see that car. Wonder why he's never brought it to BOP?

Just got off the phone with the owner of the Black/Gold car that Kyle spotted at Summit show. Really nice guy and full blooded Pontiac veteran .
Car is the Real Deal RamAir 2 4spd He has owned it since 1981 Has all the original paperwork - he bought it from the original owner. 36,000 actual original miles Also owns a 70 GTO Red/Black 455 RamAir 3spd/M13 with A/C - also bought from original owner. 70 TA Blue/Blue Auto on Column with A/C .
