I run the car normally on 87...going to the track I add 91 to the 3/4 tank mark....It most likely would be ok on 87...I never hear any hint of detonation or pinging romping on it around home..Shortblock has been in service since 2009...so no issues..

Okay so you are probably at 89 octane on the track. Similar for my combo; 87 on street, 100% 89 octane on the track.

Pretty easy to fillerup on 89 in anticipation of the track.

Good to see another OF cam combo with times to back it up.

So, will you all get another shot at the track before the weather turns?

What do y'all think a 433 with the SD 295 KRE's, an OF with 1.65s backed up by a Coan 3200 converter and 3.23 gears would be capable of? Not quite the cubes you guys have...

Like it, . Couple things ....what carb intake combo.
Fuel system supply.
Exhaust system.
What kind of vehicle, weight is a big consideration. 3:23 gear will work but a lighter weight will help.
Strip times ..all depend on the above and of course vehicle set-up.

451 BUDGET combo that would be Killer IMHO
455 block, 4.211 bore, 421/428 crank, offset ground to 4.04" use 6.700" Scat Pro Comp Light Weight I-beams with ARP 2000 bolts
Icon 455 pistons, 1.5 Compression Distance, skinny rings
Zero deck at 10.22 deck height but chop another. 003 off to get quench to 036 with blue Felpro gaskets
11.3:1 Comp ratio. Pump gas, 91-92 octane
I would use a Street Solid Roller 248-252 at .050
.650 lift 114 lsa 112ilc, Bullet Lobes LS Firing order.
SD 315 cnc Aluminum D-port heads with a Fully Ported T2 Intake And 1000hp carb
1-7/8 headers
4200 continental converter with 3.42-3.55 gears and a 400 trans
Make about 645hp at 6400rpm and 600tq at 4900 rpm run low to mid tens on pump gas with very good drivability
It's Pretty budget friendly and would be a beast, message me about your current combo if you like, sorry for the high jack !

What is the cost for a standard cam with the ls firing order? Why go that route?
What are skinny rings to you?

Intake would be either fully ported stock or a Holley SD. Might be able to squeeze a 1/2" spacer in there but that's pushing it. 800 Cliff prepped Q-jet.

Not sure which headers - either Hooker Super Comps or Tribal Tube Tri-Ys to 3" pipes with X to 2.5" cone reducers just before pipes go over the axle to a Pypes crossflow setup. I'll probably go with the Tri-Ys for clearance reasons.

Fuel system will be whatever it takes to keep it fed. As long as fuel pressure stays steady at 4-6 psi at carb inlet during the run, it doesn't really matter, does it? I'll probably end up going with one of those in-tank pumps in the spiffy baffled tank. Can't remember who makes 'em right at the moment... Tanks Inc.?
