Default Head gasket advice

Factory block with aluminum hats @ 13 to 1 compression. Should I go Copper with o ring or Cometics with less hassle for trouble free running.

The most important thing to the longevity of a head gasket under a aluminum head is the the heads deck be finished like a mirror so that the expansion and contraction forces do not shear the gasket up!
I have run the Fel pro 1016 gasket at 12 psi of blower boost with out issue !

I have ran felpro 1016s on a iron headed motor at 13 to one with no problem. Im not sure what the alum head changes in regards to the gasket.

Scott... MLS gaskets like the Cometics were developed to compensate for the movement difference relative to expansion/contraction rate differences between aluminum and iron.

My biggest fear is that because the factory block deck surface area is less than say a IA2 or Kauffman block that ringing it would likely be the only way to satisfactorily seal the head surface. I ve only heard stories of guys using the cometics with high boost and compression with no problems, never straight forward.

For the short time I had alum heads on my car 12.5 to 1 cr. I used cometics...but only because the chambers on the head were opened up larger than the bore size of the 1016s. That was a mistake by the head porter while working the chambers.

Been running Felpro 1016's for years sometimes reuse factory block,Edelbrock heads
14 to 1 compression with no failures.
This might be a 3rd option

At 13-1 CR I think (IMO) Cometics are overkill. I ran the Butler head gaskets on my 13.25 motor without issues...
Not saying that Cometics wouldn't work. As far a mirror finish...they are now saying to use Copper Coat spray ??
