Drag racing. An adrenalin rush like no other. It felt like going into combat, tasting your first beer, and losing you virginity, all in about 8 seconds.

Just bought one much like it, but with 4bbl engine and less rust, for $350. Originally advertised for $500 (worth that much) I talked the guy down after the guard dog got in a bite on my ass. Another pleasant car picking story --

Darn it I guess I'll have to go look at it.
I think this is the one that was for sale for $500.00 in lansing
And he thought he'd make a big profit from it LOL
I'll post what I find out.

This guy is finally coming around to a realistic price. I still think it's a little high. He wanted 10,000 the first time posted.

I went and looked at the car and made an offer and am waiting for his call.
He knows me from seeing my 61-wagon around and was trying to get ahold
of me to tell me about the car, So---------- I'll wait for his call.

Default 195 Engine and extras, not mine.

Just posted on CL if anyone in this neck of the woods is interested. Doesn't state carb size.

Yeah, seemed high but I am not too well versed on what the going rate is for parts. Just figured I would post it in case. That is the only 61-63 Tempest post I have seen on CL around me in the year I have owned mine other than 1 steel rim.

Just out of curiosity, what are the original 4bbl carbs that some on here say are hard to come by worth?

Mine is a "bastard " 4bbl engine. '61 1bbl block I think with 4bbl intake and Edelbrock 500cfm carb. Not looking to swap just curious.

Have a good one.

The original Rochester 4 GC are worth upwards 500 to 1000 dollars in rebuildable shape.

Being correct for 61, I much prefer to sell the auto choke 4GC with the manifold. $250 plus the ride. The other 4GC pictured I have not yet identified or priced. It's not off a Tempest, from what I can tell at a glance. Has manual choke --
