I would love to put a rear mounted power antenna on my 65 GTO but I can't afford over $400 for a good original. Does anyone know a good aftermarket power antenna that works well on these cars? I have done a lot of searches and there is one that is sold by Metra that looks like it would work and looks like good quality. Its number is PW-22. Then there is one sold by JC Whitney that is made by a company called Replacement that also looks like it might fit. AMES Performance sells one that looks a lot like the Metra PW-22 one. Has anyone tried this antenna?
Thanks, Dale |

Here is another one I found. A guy on Ebay sells one from a company called Shark (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Power-Antenn...27d06f&vxp=mtr) and he advertises it is for a 64-70 GTO.
Any advise would be great. Dale |

I bought one from Auto Zone that worked really well. Used it until I could afford and bought a GM power antenna for my 66 GTO. The one from Auto Zone looks just like the one with the Shark name on it. This one from AZ worked great in the rt rear quarter panel.
I still have the one from AZ stashed away. It does work but it's been sitting for 3 years in storage. I can sell it to you for 60.00 + shipping if you want it. Send me a PM as I don't get into the 64/65 forum too much. I'll check it out more tomorrow. I do suggest you get the power antenna adapter, nut, and mounting pad set for 65 from PY. It will look more original that way.

No problem. Glad you got fixed up and ready to rock-n-roll.

It will still be a while, the car is still getting its body work and paint. Then back on the frame and putting every thing together. Hopefully some day.
