Built 200-4R with extras
I am selling my freshly rebuilt 200-4R trans with the BOP bell housing. I picked this unit up from another PY'er, and had it rebuilt. This trans has NOT been installed, and it has not had any fluid in it. It was rebuilt by Mike Kurtz at Century Transmissions, and he built it to handle the Torque, and HP of my 461. Included with this trans are 3 complete dipstick tubes with dipsticks, a new SFI Flexplate, All brackets needed to mount the TV cable to the carb, a new TV cable, and a NIB 2800 Stall PTC "Lock-Up" converter.

Good deal on that trans. I think Century's price for this build is around 6K with them providing everything. I can vouch for the quality of Mikes 200's. Mine has been in sevice for near 2 years with several trips to the strip with slicks and lots of street miles. It is one of the best parts on the car.

Will that trans last behind a 535 aluminum Butler?
I have a 455 right now (for sale) that puts out 600HP/650TQ on the ground My current Art Carr max build 200-4R has to be rebuilt twice a year - all the clutches give out. I don't break parts just getting tired of rebuilds for clutches. I have the cable adjusted correctly so that is not the issue. I also have an electric trans brake for a 200-4R from CK performance transmissions I want to add. Brad Last edited by my69brd; 12-05-2014 at 03:51 PM. |

Brad, I would suggest that you call Mike Kurtz and give him your engine specs. After you do that, then you could ask him if my build would hold up. My Trans already has a trans brake.

Which trans brake? - The quick one that means there is no 1st gear or the electric/solenoid one that also allows you to use the trans normally?
