I've got 14" 8 lug wheels and was looking for the tire size that looks good on a 67 GP.

I'm very happy with them. I ran the same size on a '65 Grand Prix I used to have too.

Yes, I am almost certain they were options on convertibles but std equipment on hardtops. I don't know when exactly things changed but the '76 Eldorado was the last convertible until Chryler brought them back in the early 80's. If the car has the litte buckle keepers on the rear seat scuttle panels that is an indicatoir that the car came with the front shoulder belts. I have seen quite a few hardtops that look like the shoulder belts have NEVER been used, and not surprising since they were so clumsy and ackward. Until they started putting belt retractors in and putting the belt as part of the seat they were just a mess.

14" wheels were std on B body cars thru 1968. In '69 they went to 15". All 8 lugs (59/60-68) were 14" however you can get 15" now made as aftermarket. But very pricey.

'69 GP's used a 14" wheel and then went to 15" in '70 IIRC.

Almost any Rally style wheel if far more attractive than the hubcaps of the day IMO.

My 1968 bonneville has front discbrakes and 15".14" wont fit.

Front shoulder belts were an option on 1970 B body convertibles, A85 option code, and connected to the top frame, with the belt coming forward between the rear side quarter skin. The belt connected to a plastic male end mounted on the lower part of the quarter arm rest panel. I always connect the buckle to the rear clip and fold the belt over on the arm rest when not in use, and they stay out of the way. Personally, I like the more secure "strapped in" feeling when cruising. The thought of burying my face into the steering wheel in an accident far outweighs any cumbersome belt stowing issues.

As far as wheels, just remember that the GP moved from the B body line to the A body line in 1969. Their wheels have a 5 X 4 3/4 bolt circle diameter whereas the B body had the 5 X 5 bolt circle, regardless of whether they are 14 or 15 inch.

Dave, that's the same for me with my '69. Nice shot of the rear seat scuttling. I notice two subtle differences from the '69's. The power window switch is on the arm rest and integrated with the ashtray. The ashtray is a different style.

I agree with the front shoulder belts. It's the rear seat shoulder belts I didn't install.

Is there a lighter inside the ashtray cover? There isn't in '69.

The speaker grill is a different style as well.

I forgot about disc brake cars in '67-'68. They did have 15" wheels.

Yes, there are lighters in both rear ash trays. The speaker grill(s) are aftermarket. The original had only one, in the right side. I added one to the left and painted the grills to match the interior. The light switch on the 1970 is on the other side.

Picked up my new 69 wagon tonight and my Irish luck is holding! Car is a time warp, 100% original verdoro paint, incredibly original and mint interior, engine bay is untouched apart from a battery.

Very well documented also, original window sticker, owners manual, protectoplate and booklet, thank you card that was mailed to all buyers, build sheet and even the ignition switch explanation card. Also neat is the letter from PMD asking him to collect his car he won on a TV show called "wake up a winner". He won a firebied but had the opportunity to exchange for another pontiac.

I'll post some pics when I download them to my computer.

Those are really neat posters, where did you get them?

John, those are actually card-sized. I found them while doing research at the Pontiac Museum. I just carefully spread them out and took a photo of them. Just part of the museum's massive memorabilia collection.

The one poster says "Pulse" Windshield Wipers. Is that referring to how if you lightly touch the button it wipes once, or was that an actual delay wiper, which I didn't think came out until later?

Found these 2 pics hiding in my computer, the rear shot was taken right after we got done fabing up the 3" stainless exhaust. No crossover and Ultra Flows give the car some real personality.

David, you are correct that interval wipers did not come out until sometime later in the 70's. There was movie about the guy who invented them. He worked for Ford. He was fired at some point but eventually won a lawsuit where he got a large financial compensation.

I agree wholeheartedly with perryka and Alvin. Great car. And I'd love to see a larger photo. I don't know as I've ever seen that color combination and the wheels are perfect.
