Will the 70 thru 74 frame side mounts work for a 70 model with a 400?

Not all years have the mounting holes in the same locations. I don't remember which ones, but this has been discussed on here before.

Have a pair of '70-71 frame brackets in a '70 V8 Bird. No engine or front clip on car, shouldn't be extremely tough to unbolt, trying to remember if bolt heads are above the frame brackets, or if the nuts are up top, like on same vintage Pontiac A-body's. Have a homemade "fishing" wrench to get to the bolt heads in Abodys w/o torching the springs, will dig it out and see what can do this weekend.

The bolt heads are on the top & the nuts are on the bottom , I think they do that just to make them hard to get off. Also they are the same as the A-body frame mounts. Still damn hard to get off. Drill, chisel or fire is the best ways to get those off.

If you're not in a big hurry, I should have a set of the frame mounts available within the next month.

The frame mounts from a 73 A-body with a 400 will work on the birds as well, the mounts from a 73 A-body with a 455 wwill work also as long as you use the corasponding motor mounts. Both will work as long as long as you use the motor mounts for the same size engine. Right now I use the 400 mounts with my 455 in my 73 GTO. The difference in them is in the size of the motor mount which is longer in the 455 then the 400. But you can use either one & they will work.
