Karl, I've always respected what you and Neal have done over the years. I know the effort Bailey put into that car, and the people behind it, it's badass.
I've seen Mike run at Norwalk, and more importantly I know who Mike chooses to work with and I wouldn't bet against them either. IMHO it will come down to the driver. |

I just came up with a brilliant idea. Why doesnt Mike put my engine and transmission in his car? That will remove all variables.

I'm serious if you wanna meet at Tony's.
Back to back days. Loser pays two days dyno. 4-5 weeks I'll be there anyway.

Different engine builders. Different programs. Stanton, kemp and Bowles all went to the late model. They all went faster.

Stanton went from a Chevelle that really wasn't built to go that fast to a pretty good 4th gen Camaro. More chassis than body.
Don't know much about Kemp, besides he use to complain a lot wasn't Bowles Maverick a 100 years old

Stanton went from the Chevelle to a camaro. Then rebuilt the Chevelle because the nostalgia weight break wasn't necessary he took the drivetrain out of the camaro and put it in the newly rebuilt Chevelle and slowed down a dime and like 3 mph. By seasons end he built another camaro. All cars were fresh builds out of the chassis shop. All cars had the latest and greatest parts.

Catered to a mustang? I'm not sure about that. I think by the time NMCA came out with class, there was still a lot of mustangs out there in NMRA. NMCA have the best rules I have seen to create parity between many different types of cars and engine combinations. A lot of other organizations with "more simple" rules are now facing the issue with loopholes and starting the rethink their ideas. Quote:
I believe the car's suspension and setup show more of the ET, but the MPH can be sometimes be 2 or 3. Quote:
Another 50 for Pontiac? I'm a Pontiac fan but they already have 150 off the BBC and came in 2nd place this past year?

Thats why I said 50 for the Pontiac or another 50 for the nostalgia body style. 25 pounds for me and Dwight doesnt level the field for us. At the end of the day we can either race at a disadvantage or build modern pipe. The choice is purely up to us. In all reality it should be another 25-50 for the nostalgia. Put my motor in Kemps car and it could get ugly...

The Ford biased rules are why some people put Ford engines in GM cars. They allowed the 7721 Edelbrock Ford head 15 degree as cast, when the Chevys were restricted to 23 degree heads. Edelbrock makes a 15 degree head for Chevy but that was not on the list. Ive worked for the NMCA and NMRA. I know behind the curtain decisions.

Not when he redid it... It was low and lean. Weighed 75 pounds less then the camaro and went a dime slower.

Everyone has their take on it, I see it as being held accountable for what you say.
![]() Its the internet, if you say something someone will make you prove it. Don't be so cynical. |
