Started working on my 67 Bird. I have parts to build a 66 engine, but wanted to see if anybody somewhat close has a Sprint engine available and what they are going for. Would like something that would be plug and play. The car is a auto trans, not that it matters at this point.
I am located near Hershey, in south central Pa.

You might have better luck going to the OHC Cammer forum when looking for a motor. Occasionally they pop up on eBay but be careful when buying that way.

We would all like to see pictures of what you have. Tip to the OP. The OHC engine really needs a manual transmission to shine. The two speed ST300 is a dog and severely limits the Sprint motor and takes the fun out of it. If you have the resources to go to a manual transmission you should do it. Saginaw three speeds were standard and the Saginaw 4 speed was a pricey option back in the day. I see many Saginaw 4 speeds on eBay for $400 on up. The problem I have found is locating the shifter to go with it.

I would also suggest joining the POCI / OHC Chapter so that you'll have access to around 150 members with these engines. Extremely smart bunch of guys that are very helpful and may have the parts you are looking for. After the POCI membership its only $15 to join which includes bi-monthly newsletters full of great info.

I might have a set of motor brackets for the OHC Firebird minus the pads but they are not cheap.

I will probably throw a TH350 in here when she goes back together, just because the low end acceleration is so soft with the 2 speed. I also thought about a 2004r, but then I should put a steeper rear gear in her, otherwise she will run really low rpm on the highway. A TH350c seems like it would be the best of both worlds. Put the rpms right around 2600@70 mph.
Anyway, I believe I stated I have the makings of a 66 Sprint engine. Was just hoping to get something correct by year.
This all started with the heater core,,, but I will not let it get out of control as I have other things I want to do to her. Plus, she is a driver with factory a/c.
I found Califorina beach sand in the heater core housing when I took it apart. She was originally sold in Hollywood, Ca so the body is very solid.

I have a ZD code 68 motor it has a one barrel intake on it and no carb, but everything else is there. I'm not sure if it runs,it my need to be rebuilt. If your interested I'm asking $250.00. I'm in Langhorne Pa.[ATTACH]390206

Dima, thanks for the offer, but at this time I think I'll pass. I also have a couple engines that could use a rebuild so I'm good there.
I am a POCI member so I suppose I should try there before I commmit to having the head done on the 66 engine I have. Suppose to be a good shortblock. Got everything from a member here so we shall see.

I checked storage and thought I had a '67 block, but it's a '68 and avail; if needed.
I'll keep an eye out for a '67, they always seem to come up out of no where.

Hey Jeff,
Thanks for looking. I have the 66 short block, head, and other parts that I got from you a couple years ago.
Just thought I would look for a correct year before I fully commit to putting this one together. The head magged good. The valves have quite a bit of pitting so they will need to go. Just need to find a shop that has experience with one of these heads.
You saw the car at Carlisle last year. Yellow 67 Firebird.
