OK, what am I missing here??????
Asking price of $4200.00.......... Yes, I know it's an asking price, but really ?
NO motor, NO transmission and NO interior. It's really missing a whole LOT of parts !
Plenty of rust for an "Arizona" car.
Have these "Sprint" cars appreciated that much for basically a roller?
Needs everything !
I guess maybe I am getting older !
I just don"t see the value in this car for 1/3 the price.

Most likely end up with a GTO vin, cowl tag, and tailpanel in it. Crooked as it gets.

I wouldn't pay that price if it was a '67 GTO in the same shape. It'll cost double or triple the car's end value to restore it. I see a $1000 car here, more if it's parted out. Sorry, but that's my opinion.

Can see quite a bit more than a $1000, just not $4200.
- nice clean straight pair of '66 or 67 doors today will run $550- 900.
- Solid straight clean western 6 cyl '67 frame (should have no frame cradle sag), with a roller 3.55 '67 8.2 rear, getting close to another K.
-Relatively clean 2 door hardtop body, they're not a couple hundred dollars...

What many relatively inexperienced sellers dont realize, is usually one can't get a sum of "national" prices w/o splitting everything up and selling to multiple customers. When one sells a "clip back roller" all together, usually have to discount the package.

Can't argue it being on the high side, but true PHS documented Sprint.
If I was in process of a similar project I one would pay that price.
Anyone who builds/re-builds these car knows dam well the days of 1000$ parts cars is a thing of the past.
This car a a very solid car and could save a potential buyer thousands.
One thing I would never do is make another GTO Clone-car out of it.

But I am bias to anything OHC

Your photo of a 67 Sprint looks great, but what would it take to get that CL car into that shape?
We have all done a car that we really wanted, and realize when it's "finished" there is far more into it than could ever be recovered should we ever decide to sell.
It would have to go to someone who has a history with a similar car to get it restored.
If it was a complete Sprint, needing everything restored, it MIGHT be worth the asking price.
You know how hard finding a 67 Saginaw 4 speed is, and then the correct motor, carburetor, air cleaner, .....
After you're done assembling all the missing pieces, restoring and re-assembling, body work and painting, you would still only have a restored Sprint.
It would not be numbers matching, which is the only way it would make $$$$ sense.
I hate to admit it, but it will probably become another GTO

I just bought a black 66 Catalina convertible, pictured in my avatar, with a body that is in similar condition.
The difference is that it is a complete car, with a very decent, usable red bench seat interior, that has a running motor & trans.
It also started out out priced high, $4500. I wound up getting it for $1500.
I would think that $1500 would be the upper end price of that 67 Sprint to interest me

Ron,
No doubt you got a deal but the Big Brother Cars don't seem to pull in the big money as the A-bodies but can't argue logic.
I still feel if someone was getting ready to build a '67 Sprint
(I know I know not very likely) this would be a big time/money saver.
And you are correct in as because of this being a smooth 1/4 Tempest the likelihood of it becoming a clone-car is very provable.
It just kills me to see another Sprint fade away.
I guess I'm just defending this car as it reminds me of a '66 Droptop Sprint I had way back and once I opened her up it was just way to far gone to save and I regret letting it go to scrapper.

I think your comment was, You can't save them all.
I do think, if it was a complete car, there is no question that it's a perfect car to restore.
This one was lost, unfortunately, when they removed the drive train.
Without it's soul, the OHC 6 Sprint drive train, It just became a donor, a parts car.
Someone who would buy this car to restore to factory would have to have an unlimited check book and a real love of basic, no major options, 67 Sprints.

And the Big Brother 66 Catalina convertible is my bucket list car.
We're having our 50th high school reunion in the fall of 2016
I had my first date with my bride senior year of high school, March 11 1966, driving a 58 Olds 98 Starfire Convertible !
I plan on taking her to the reunion in that Black 66 Catalina convertible !
