Default Private Message service database corrupted?

Has anybody else noticed the message notification of the PYs private message service is non functional? I have a stack up of messages in my in-box which I was totally unaware of until just this morning. The blue # of the main screen never updates to show the number of new incoming messages. Even worse; I am unable to answer of them.

When I go to try and send someone a PM all I get is an error screen which says that the database is corrupted and to try again later.

I don't remember ever having an issue like this in the past.

Pete, there has been a great deal of discussion about this in the Lobby and other areas. The problem is being worked on, so you need to check your messages daily. You can reply, but they may never know that you replied if they don't check PMs. By the way, I PMed you weeks ago about needing gauges done. Maybe that's why I never heard back.

I read your message, yes on testing the firebird gauges and yes to working on your clock. No to the radio, I don't work on radios. Hard to say a time, it depends on what is needed maybe a week or 2. I would have to look at them first.

Whenever I try and PM somebody from these forums all I get is this:

Database error

Yes, If you send a message it goes through, but gives you the database error and does not show on the recipient's end. Hopefully they'll get this fixed soon.

I noticed it twice. I actually lost a good buy because of it. I sent a message about something but the guy that posted on the thread 4hrs later got the buy. Seller said he was first to reply, but I really was. Bottom line is, it's not working. I had a response from another guy and found it 5 days later when I went into my messages. It didn't even say on the home page that I had an unread message. I thought all along that the guy never responded.

If anyone sends a PM, save a copy in your PM's Sent folder. That might help when trying to buy something in the For Sale sections for who sent a PM first.
Just keep checking your PM to see if you have any new ones. They'll be sent but won't show in your Notifications that you received them. ;)

I've thought the same as Bill until it checked into it more. If you get a Data Base error it doesn't mean your PM wasn't sent. It's the same as getting the error when you post a reply in the forums. It's posted but you need to restart PY again. When you do you will see it. Check first before redoing the same reply over again and having a double. ;)

I check every time in the sent folder but when it comes down to who said I want it first it doesn't help the next day after its gone, I won't go there once it's gone or a commitments been made. It shouldn't be happening like this but something's been wrong since the merger.

What I meant was, the message is sent but doesn't register in the recipient's Private Messages line, so unless you click on it to check, you don't know that you have messages.

I just clicked on the link to this thread from my email and it repeated my post from before. Wow, what a mess. I guess it will all work out eventually.
