Here's "Back to the roots" double album by John Mayall. This album plays through strongly on all 4 sides. Superb music.

Has a rather expensive looking 20-page color booklet inside. Similar in quality to the Quadraphenia booklet but in color.

Mayall is another one I want to see before he's gone, and at 82 he won't be around forever.

Yes indeed. The likes of Johm Mayall, Gary Moore, Jack Bruce, Mick Taylor, Allman Bros, (some 65-73 Zappa), Robin Trower music, and probably more along their theme;

all their music can be played for hours, days, seasons while getting work& home chores done.

you mention Mick Taylor...... he is one of the most tasteful players around. Stones era? The best.

Tip for guitar afficiandos: check out Jack Pearson. Touring never agreed with him I think. Otherwise he could be gigantic.

Sonny Rollins, Way Out West, is on at the moment while I work away.

Music on a background level helps me concentrate through my A.D.D. to actually get something done provided there's no lyrics in the material. The human voice used as a musical instrument is fine though.

And speaking of human voice ... the best, by far, male vocal recording I've ever heard are these two gospel albums ... Fairfield Four, Wreckin Down the House and Standing in the Safety Zone. If you have a system that images well, there are some tricks here (I'm sure all by accident) that get the attention of someone not familiar with what conventional two channel audio will do. Even the mp3 downloads from iTunes sound great. Most highly recommended.

My son and I were up at the Wanna Go Fast" event last month and taking a break from the rain we stopped in to have some bbq and walked a indoor flea market. There was a guy that had over ten 3x8 tables full of old records in crates. I was floored. This place is up in Hiawassee, GA.

Those type deals cost me hours as I can't leave till I look at them all. Ones like that that are not alpha / genre organized are a challenge. Went over a guys house two years ago that had about 5000. None in order. I think he had mental issues. I asked how he finds things, he said he just grabs stuff and plays at random (?). He wanted me to come over and spend a day looking through. They were stacked in many cases, not sideways. Every room in house full. I went home, did some wham bham math and figured 40 hours to inventory. Never went back

Guys like your table guy buy "lots" not inventoried like the guy I described, 10 cents on the record and hope they get enough good to work it out.

not uncommon in a decent system to hear individual voices up in the sound stage complete with bodies and accurate placement right to left and front to back, but it's unusual to hear something this far outside the outer boundaries of your speakers' sound-stage and in this instance, far to the left and slightly behind you.
