Question 64 tri power and hood clearance?

Checking to see if anyone has noted how much hood clearance there is with a stock 64 tri power with factory air cleaners and stock 64 GTO hood? I would like to add intake spacers on my build if there is enough room, thanks in advance.

I have 1/2" nitrous plates under each carb. I had to bend the hood cross member as it was hitting the front air cleaner lid. The clearance gets better as you get closer to the firewall.

I forgot to mention that my tri-power is a '66, not a '64 - but it is in a '64 GTO.

Jim, note any power increase with the spacers/sans the nitrous?

I have a '64 with a '64 manifold. Without spacers, the air cleaners rub on the molded hood pad. Without the pad, you have between 1/2" and 1" clearance.

wanna use bolts instead of studs for air cleaners...doesn't appear to be much clearance on mine,as it leaves impressions of the air cleaners in the molded pad. Just sayin'...

I never did an A-B test to figure it out. Once the plates were on I ran with the nitrous.
