... the level of work that I've accomplished at my job for example, is very high end, meaning my port development has made well over 2000hp N/A, but yet my work gets questioned by plumbers ??? ... ... I'm a cylinder head guy, that's what's relative so when Jack and his left nut start making retarded statements like 150hp more than my CVwhat heads on Fulton's engine, or the chamber is f'd up or the head isn't properly designed, does anyone here start asking them about what cylinder heads they've developed, or how much power are they responsible for concerning their cylinder head work ??? ... ... well, no, they don't do they ??? ... ... what is relative, is, i want to know what ALL of you non-believers will say IF Fulton hands Jack his ass ??? ... |

Robin Roberts ran low 8's ET, went as fast as 174 MPH trying to get the car to hook with CV-1 heads over two years ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ko9NSTPKX44 Dick Fulton has run will into the 7's, not just ONE TIME, his CV-1 engine is making a bunch more power over his old E-headed combo that ran in the 7's, he will be faster. (1st question ) ... that's my point, neither do i, CV-1's have been close to mid 8's N/A with Calvin's Fusion heads on 484c.i's and as fast as 176mph on a 535c.i N20 combo in Robin's T/A, and Fulton's car should provide a lot of insight as to where we stand with my work, simply asking what we've (CV-1's) done max effort N/A before even an engine like Fulton's N20 combo has been built & raced is a bit preemptive don't you think ? ... (2nd question) ... if you're not a non-believer then certainly not, but if you are then yes ... |

larry is a great guy- anybody that doesn't know him should take the time to introduce at Norwalk (just plan on an hour to kill- lol) but his '62 cat is an exhibition car, comparing it to a refined, max effort n/a car is hilarious... but that's the internet

So what should it be compared too? Also how many max effort Pontiacs do you think there are?

[QUOTE=65nss4spdGTO;5431199]I'm guessing a low 10 second ride with d-ports would require you to juice that car? At 3750+ lbs, your engine would need to be making over 750 HP if it's NA, a big task for a small port headed engine on street style compression.
There is no spray on JSPONT's car and it's a true street car. There's a cool video of it on YouTube. Last edited by PAUL K; 07-11-2015 at 10:48 PM. |

against my better judgement,,,
but i just had to post a little nugget about who twinturrbo bill refers to as lil jack's 'left nut'... because its so damn FUNNY!! gach just posted on his site in the JSpont thread #5: "No I know exactly were your coming from, Marty ran a 6.95 over 10 years ago with Turbos and yep e-heads. I know him quite well because I bought those heads off him." what a hoot! we all know what he says about our work and cv-1's... PROOF that everything posted on that site should be taken with a grain of salt, cuz everyone knows marty ran iron 62's-- http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=768488

It is a nice car and correct about no spray. So why forget to mention the turbo and boost ? Real basic simple combo that is very affordable. No reason he wont see 9's or better as he steps it up. Dont need aftermarket heads for even 1000+ horsepower turbocharged. There are several very fast iron head turbo'd Pontiacs. A fairly heavy 69 GTO street car in the 8's over in iceland. Basic 455 with mild ported 197 round ports. Jeff Palazzo was into the 9's way back with a turbo'd 455 2 bolt block 6h heads and a Performer intake no less. JS, if you are following, Bill has a nice 6x8 Port that out flows an out of box RPM head with a 2.10 valve(292 cfm). Its a a safe port, not razor thin, welded, or epoxied. However you can buy CV1 heads with identical ports to Mr fultons for a reasonable price. I witnessed that port development 3 years ago. There are bigger ports as well as smaller ones for smaller motors. Choose one that best meets the application and it will get cnc'd accordingly. The as cast version is plenty for lots of apps.

Agree 3-4 tops (that's probably pushing) but every time a comparison is made between a cv1 car and another car the claim is it an unfair comparison because the other car is max effort. Which lead me to believe there are lots of max effort Pontiacs out there.
