Picture Thread - Your Street Car On The Race Track
Post a picture of your car at the track. I was lucky enough to have a friend who takes professional-quality photos take some shots of my car and give them to me.
Post a pic of your car in the staging lanes if you don't have any pics of it on the track. Best run for the '64 Tempest pictured below was 13.899 @ 101.85 MPH at Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield CA. Drivetrain - 8.2:1 455 w/068 cam, TH400 trans and a 2.56 open 8.2" 10-bolt rear.

Personal best so far of a 13.22 in a breakout run against Jeremy in the first round of eliminations Saturday last year at Norwalk where I lifted at the end knowing I was way too far ahead of him. Hoping for 12's this year - pretty sure the car can do it, just not sure the driver can.

Back in 2001, as a member of the Land 'O Lakes GTO Club, I worked on the committee to put on the GTOAA Nationals. Bill Meyer was the chairman of the Jim Wangers All Pontiac Drags and when he learned that I lived 20 miles from Rock Falls Raceway, he enlisted me to help him.
With zero drag racing experience, and being the "official photographer" for the event, I didn't have much time or talent for spending the day really racing. But I did make a number of passes and had some fun.

My 80 Trans Am with pump gas 455 Eheads and 3.42 gears runs 10.7 @ 125 on motor and 10.2 @ 134 spraying through second and third gear. The 70 Firebird is my brothers RAIV headed 455 that goes 10.5@128 on motor and 9.6@140 on spray.
