I can't run high rpm because I start losing fuel pressure as soon as I leave the line. I start off with 8.5 or so and I'm down to under 7 at the finish line. Mechanical pump should be the answer but I have no room.

Saturday is the best "one day" to go by far. You'll have a full house of cars on both sides of the track showing and racing plus the swap meet and vendors are in full swing. Saturday has all the qualifying for the specialty races plus some exhibition runs as well as 2 rounds of time runs and eliminations in the bracket race. Racing normally ends somewhere in the early evening.

When my car was built it was not built for what I'm doing with it........running a Ponitac with Blower on alcohol. It was built for a JUNK CHEVY engine with carbs on gas. I had to move stuff around ( some bracing, mounts & Steering) that was for the Pontiac engine. Now I had too move stuff for the blower belt. For the alcohol I had to install a front fuel cell, for that I had to lengthing the front Frame past the fuel cell, to do that I had to remove the 2 front grills. So I guess what I'm saying is if I knew when I bought the car what I'd be doing with it now I would have bought something else! I just don't have the room for a belt driven pump.

Hey George, My 66 is the same story. In 1990 we built it to be a bracket racer, mild steel frame, with a glass hood and deck. She's a heavy pig. Every year I want to go faster with it. I didn't have the money to build a 2,000 lb car in 1990 which would make all the difference now, but I'm attached to the car. It is what it is. A heavy pig that runs low 8's. It's probably cheaper for me to switch out the steel interior to aluminum, add a glass front end and doors, drop a couple hundred lbs than to have more port work and go to a 1471 and back to injection.

I hear you Dil........fly weight cars under 3,000 is the only way to go! I think my car is ready for Norwalk, I'm not changing my camshaft so it's going to run what it runs.........8.20's. On a GOOD note the engine is still together. Dil think screw blower in a nostolgia case.
My plans are to get my Wife TA running (Saturday, I'm hoping) then do a quick once over on my car and maybe go to the Blue Suide Nationals at Norwalk next weekend and run some Pro Tree stuff, then the Pontiac Race 2 weeks after. See you there Dil!

19 Days Until Norwalk. 2 weekends left to work on your cars and trailers. It's just a little over 900 miles each way for us coming up from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Add another 1,200 miles each way for my brother coming from SoCal. He got the fever when he rode up with me in 2013 and helped me with the white 66.

Our T shirts showed up Saturday and we have about 50 left that we're bringing to Norwalk to pimp. Just look for the red and orange Gassers in the pits if you'd like to buy one of these crazy things.
