Its got a stock 389, 6X heads, summit 2801 cam, TV7101 turbo, tial wastegate and bov, msd digital programmable 6al-2, air/water intercooler, and all the tubing was cut and TIG welded by me including the reservoir, fan shroud, intercooler, dual 3.5" stainless exhaust, stainless downpipe, etc. And here is a short 3rd gear pull at 9 lbs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQHdZFsmLXg

What compression and fuel are you running?

the compression calculator with a factory 389 bottom end and the 6X heads puts it at 7.6:1 compression and I run 91 and 100 octane mix till I sort out the timing and general tune

Hey, I see that AZ plate! Are you in the Valley, or elsewhere?
Mad respect for doing all your work! I hope to join the club some day.

Awesome, keep an eye on the a/f gauge till you work it out. I started at 6 psi. You will get different opinions but I like it safe . 11.7 is my roof past that I lift just in case!

Thanks for the compliments guys! I am an hour south of Tucson. Where are you other guys located in az? I want to get some paint and body done and go to some shows and hopefully we can all represent the boosted Pontiac scene together

Wow, stock bottom end (cast pistons and stock rods) at 9psi. What kind of power do you think it is making?
I'm in Glendale. |

Ive run as fast as 11.9 at 114 in this car with the e heads and roller setup and have driven lots of cars but its never had this top end. This is hard to call since I have done all the handling stuff like tubular upper and lower a arms, qa1 coilovers with 550# springs and 1" solid sway bar and poly ends, and reloated corvette shocks in the rear. Its a really tight ride and I know it would eat up a new ZL1 Camaro as I just drove one of those recently but I would equate it to a heads/cam C6 Z06. This engine revs quick! Its not uncommon to hit the recall on the tach and see 6300 rpm! But once the boost hits in second it just winds up so fast its almost a race to balance being pushed in the seat, checking for cars up ahead, and jumping off the throttle. Id have to say if I can hook, this car it should be good for low 11s. Id really like to turn it up to 12 lbs and leave it there. I also need to program in the rev limiter to 5800 rpm!

What did you do for exhaust? Custom headers or manifolds flipped around?

Its about 4600 feet above sea level here and Tucson usually has an awful DA. Its one of the slowest tracks out there but when I get there ill be sure to post some numbers. And its got factory manifolds installed the same way as they came from the factory. I did all the piping from there up to the turbo and 3.5" downpipe to dual 3.5" exhaust. All the hot side was done after the manifolds in stainless steel and the cold side is all aluminum TIG welded together

Did you run the hot side from the manifolds to the front, under the control arms? Any clearance issues if you did?

thanks George and macho it comes up where the oil filter goes and goes down in the same area. That's why my down pipe is only 3.5" I made an oil filter relocation kit and the filter and housing are now right in front of the passenger front tire
