this way the thugs and others who work off the books pay as well

Gas is hovering just over $2 in our area. I paid about $1.85 for off-road diesel, yesterday. Reg diesel remains higher than gas.

Just a few years back, before gas went to $4, diesel was usually at least a dime cheaper than gas, around here. But as gas started to come down, they left diesel from 30-50 cents higher than gas.

Filled up my car YESTERDAY for $2.42 a gallon (Regular). Now the same gas stations that were $2.42 to $2.49 yesterday are $3.19 a gallon! Holy crap! Took 14 gallons yesterday. If I had waited one day, I would paid an extra $10.78. That's 2 Little Caesar's Pizzas + tax.

Don, I agree. Sales tax is better than income tax any day. If I spend , I pay. No spend, no pay. Just under/over $3 a gallon here.

To the best of my knowledge, it was only the Costco station at $1.919. The Kwik Trip next door was as low as $2.019 and I filled up there on Sunday (not a Costco member), but I did have a $.10 per gallon coupon. Most of the other stations in Rochester were around $2.20 on Sunday.

Just checked on gasbuddy.com and Costco is back up to $2.209 as of 6 minutes ago.

Ah, here ya go, same ol', same ol'....they're estimating it will reach around $3.50 a gallon before the "crisis" is over, and as usual it will take months and months for it to creep back down while the oil companies line their pockets.

WHITING, Ind. (WLS) -- Gas prices are expected to rise in the Chicago area over the next few days because of a problem at the BP refinery in Whiting, Ind.

The largest of BP's three crude oil distillation units, which distills about 240,000 barrels of oil per day, was shut down Saturday for unscheduled work. BP says there's no estimate when the repairs will be done.

Just got a notice from the android app, Gas Buddy, that priced are going up another 50 cents a gallon. So that's a buck a gallon increase since the weekend. Within 30 minutes all local stations will be at exactly the same price.

Sumthin wrong here and I think Mr Sherman (Sherman Anti Trust Act) would be quite interested.

I don't know what happens in your area, but around here the price normally changes (up or down) after the tanker has delivered fresh fuel.
