Brad, you continue to NOT understand!I,like you believe there are better drivers out there to put in the car BUT no one would pay the bill! Its about marketing! That new sponsor was brought into NASCAR because of HER,they put a huge amount of money on the line to be seen on her car no matter where it runs.In the truck race the other night 6 of the top 10 were 24 or younger with most being 17-20.Their challenge to knock the 40 year old drivers out of their seats is MONEY.These days to get a ride you almost have to bring a sponsor with you.Your too close to the track!JMO,Tom

Tom, I understand the financial part of it fine, she bought her way into NASCAR by bringing go danny with her, doesn't mean I have to concur or like it. Tom, I have raced with other women in my years as a driver on dirt tracks and the favoritism in my experiences just flat out sucks. I think if you had the experiences I've had you may have a different outlook on it.

As I have posted before, there is a girl in Ohio that runs 410 sprint cars that can flat out beat the guys she runs with. I'm a fan of hers, she asks no quarter and none is given. The playing field is level as far as I see it. If NASCAR was like that I would have no complaint, just as in politics, money talks and bullsh!t walks. Money and greed dictate the policies and the gender card is just another tool in the arsenal.

I also know that TP has brought interest and fans to NASCAR, no doubt about it. The fire has went out somewhat with the lackluster performance over the past 4 years and Danicamania has dropped off. Thing is a decent female driver in that car would still be raising interest 4 years later still if she was close to breaking into the chase. More souvenirs sold, more sponsors interested, more fans. I don't care what gender the driver is as long as the interest generated is because of the on track performance, not because a woman is making laps every week in a cup car. It would benefit every facet of cup racing to have the #10 car competitive. The return on the dollars spent would be much greater if that car was competitive on a regular basis.

It's been mentioned that Stewart Haas sees $$$$$ from that team, put a driver in it and the $s would be even greater. I guess I don't like to see poor utilization of anything, and the utilization of resources from the #10 car is far under it's potential IMO.

Brad,if she was so good how come a sponsor has not put her in a ARCA car or a truck car. There are hundreds of great young talent out there but if you dont get noticed and a sponsor hooks up with you,you cant advance in the sport. Not saying its right just the way it is.The talent in the truck series right now is unbelievable.Tom

She and her family owned and maintained her car, she was picked up by a 410 sprint car owner/driver that had stepped aside because of his age (Mike Woodring). Steyer Seeds (an Ohio agricultural business) was procured to pay the bills. She's on her way to better things and just turned 21. I'm not sure if she wants to go pavement racing, she started out in dirt Go Karts and has always driven dirt cars. She's at the pinnacle of dirt cars now driving 410 winged sprints. The car she drives now is a good car, it however isn't a great car.

She's been asked to drive a bunch of sprint cars and has been the only woman to win a sprint car feature race at Tony's Eldora speedway in nearly 60 years of history.

Paige Polyak, she might be the one to unseat the touring princess, ya never know. She has the talent IMO, just needs things to go that way if she wants to go into NASCAR.

Tom, the transition from sprint cars to ARCA or the truck series is daunting. Steve Kinser's leap into NASCAR with Kenny Bernstein was a total disaster. I've known Frank Kimmel for over 30 years. IMO, he is one of the best, if not the best, ARCA drivers ever. Frank was never able to crack the ceiling into the "big" show. As to why, I have no idea. Neither did "Chargin' Charlie" Glotzbach, the late Elmer Davis or countless other ARCA drivers that were GOOD race car drivers.

Something you might not be aware of Tom, is that her new sponsor is a customer of Haas Automation and came to fruition based on their relationship with Gene Haas.

I don't think it was so much that Danica brought them into a sponsorship role, but that Gene Haas needed a sponsor.

I will admit that Danica and fruit bars could be seen as a good match...

Then why did Gene not put it to the 41 car that he is footing the bill? And I did know that.he could have put it on the 41 and give Nature more TV time on a front runner and put his brand on a mid pack car that does not need TV time. The reason is they would not want to be on Kurts car even thou it's a WINNER!Marketing!Continue being a hater!Tom

Those outside of the Chicago area may not be aware of this, but she's also a spokesperson for Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare. We've been seeing her on TV commercials, billboards, and hearing her ads on the radio for several months now.

Also, from her official bio on their site:

Danica was previously a spokesperson for the Drive4COPD campaign, an effort to promote health screenings for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Danica’s grandmother died of COPD in 2001 at the age of 65.

In 2014, Danica helped launch Aspen Dental’s Healthy Mouth Movement to bring dental care to those who need it most and raise awareness about the importance of oral health throughout the country. The program features the MouthMobile, a fully-equipped dental office on wheels, which travels to communities in Aspen Dental’s 27 states to provide dental care free of charge.

Because Haas wants to put his sponsor $$$'s on a proven winner, past Cup Champion. He wants to be associated with a winner - not an also ran. That's marketing...

Feel free to continue being a Danica apologist...

And in related news, Danica finished 27th last night - 5 laps down.

Her average finish is now 22.2 - just 1.5 positions higher than last seasons 23.7.

Her average in the first 10 races of the season was 18.7. In the last 10 races it has been 24.5.

One would think as she gains experience, she would improve.

She stinks. So far this season she's finished on the lead lap 12 out of 24 starts.
Average start...22.4
Average finish....22.2
