Some of the later II's built in June/July after they ran out of the as-cast C118 blocks have had ground & stamped 2506 blocks in them like the 69 IV's. It's conceivable that one of them could have ended up with an unground one. The eun sequence, the look of the stampings and the vin stamps would tell the story.

Mike, actually they were not listed that way on the window sticker. They were just listed as Firebird Ram Air. Depending on when the car was built, you received a Ram Air or Ram Air II.

Not sure what car that window sticker portion you posted is from, but I can see it's also on the wrong form, so I assume it's a PHS repro. The form PHS uses for 68-69 Birds has a large, lacy, thick border like regular 1968 Pontiac window stickers, but it should have a much thinner border.

Example of one I created for the original owner of a RAII Bird. Note the different border, and this is the correct description for the option.

The man who used to own the Nightshade Green Ram II car posted his original window sticker earlier in this thread. From the U - Lordstown plant.
Noun has the right template and stuff.

The stolen Convertible car - giving it potential benefit of even being a Ram II car - could have had an engine or block replacement. On the overall scale of Ram II cars, over half do not have the original engine intact.

Wrote down a casting code that would pertain to 99.9% of all 68-69 400 blocks ever produced.
Doubt he knows anything about head block carb codes or any date codes , stampings etc.. etc ...

Anyone have any Convertible VIN's to see what time frame that VIN might fall into ?
It would be borderline range if Hdtp and Vert run consecutive VIN's.
If Vert had its own count, then its probably a very late build.

Could even be a 350 car that was upgraded a little bit before he bought it.
Lots of those out there.
Don't think he would know the difference either way.
Terrible his car was stolen like that, no matter what.

Sold by a member on this forum (most know him) in spring of 1999.

One built approx. 900+ units prior was a RAI Cp.

Want to bring back a Special Black 68 Ram Air One Firebird that kicked our azzes pretty bad back in early stage of this thread, however many years ago it's been now.

This is one DynOmite Bird with deluxe content.

Brian Steinbreck and myself spent many hours with many migrane headaches trying to get the breakdown totals to match the BHC Label Price.
We both had to throw in the towel.
Probably many others were trying to work it out behind the scenes, too.

But i have nailed it down now.

We were using $2666.00 as the early base price , I have forgotten why now.
Stroke of luck I had another early-mid car that was being difficult on the total -
and happened to check out these window stickers showing a $2758.00 base price.
The later cars had a base price of $2781.00.
I am not sure if any 68 Birds had a billing base price of $2666.00, but that number came from somewhere. Would mean the base price changed twice in the year.

Anyway, we were $81.47 short against the Label Price back then ...
was the best we could do with what we had to work with, at the time.

2758.00 - 2666.00 = $92.00
92.00 - 81.47 = 10.53
Now there is a $10.53 overage against the Label Price.

Deduct the $10.53 for the Black Paint (code A) , and it zero's out perfect.

Billing Dept could have easily overlooked charging for the Special Paint-Black since the code box shows an alpha code (A),
instead of anything unusual - such as Code "1" or "-" or "*" or etc.....

I think it is more likely they missed the paint code, than missing the Radial Tire code. (also $10.53)
But it had to be one of them.

This one has always bothered me for a long time.
Have not seen BlkBrd or Brian Steinbreck post on PY in quite a while, but I hope they see this somehow.
They both owe me a 6 pack !

A 1968 Parts book has it listed as :

I have 4 Blade fans on my RA II Birds, that's just what I decided to use.
