This one on eBay item number 350840234424 I would like to know what brand you guys have used. Fitting problems? Quality? I think I will buy with brace but not sure . I would like order tpfay or tomorrow. Are they USA or over seas . Doug

they are all offshore as far as i know..if youre thinking you can put it on and it just works..thats not quite true..they are decent..and an experience body man can do a nice job..but it takes some experience to make an invisible repair

I bought mine from PY about 3ish years ago, my friend did the job with out removing the fender, the a show Queen car, but it looks pretty good 3 years later.

The ones with the brace are made in USA without China. At least that what I have read on line and in catalogs. Mine will not be a show car I been there before and have no interest in people picking my car apart that never even own one. I have spent a lot of money over the years on miller welder and a nice compressor and will at least try to do it my self. Before I pulled off rocker molding you could barely see the holes so thinking might just cut what I need off. Any thoughts? OPG looks like they have a nice set but will go with Ames our sponsors if the quality is good . Doug

I ment to say: the car is no show Queen, but still looks good 3 years later. The picture with the cut metal is not right, sorry.
My friend cut enough of the fender to use all of the patch panel.
Make sure that you take measurements of the fender emblem if you cut that far up for the new holes.

I understand . I have the fenders off but want to get this done before I forget how to put it back together. My son will do welding but as the saying goes we will measure twice and hopefully cut once . Thank for your input . Doug

I'm still the new guys around here, but when it comes to patch panels, I would use the minimum amount required to eliminate the rust.

I am in agreement with you . I will only use about the size of a soft ball. But the brace is part of that so with the fenders off I can address all of it. I do not want this to only last a few years. After looking at mine which is minimal rust southern California car the brace all the way up needs cleaning and paint. I know I could do it on the car but I would think your playing with fire not knowing condition of that brace .the amount of dirt and leaves and crap that came out was unbelievable Doug

I used a pair from Ames and the quality was very nice. Gauge was heavier than most of the patch panel type stuff I've bought over the years. I have no idea where they were made but the quality was noticeably better than the other non-factory metal I've picked up.

Yes, as best I can recall...It's been 10 or more years ago. I remember that they were bare steel without the EDP coating. I also bought one of the forward rear-wheel opening patches at the same time and it too was bare steel and heavy gauge. Nice stuff and fit well.
