Track results have shown a major improvement in head gasket life with the Tiger special alloy insert. In one case, the racer was getting minimal head gasket life, less than 15 passes under NOS use. The racer had 12 passes after the insert was installed, pulled the head after needing to reseat a valve, the head gasket looked great and reused the gasket, 20+ additional runs and the gasket still looks great. That's twice the head gasket life and can be reused.
Glenn Sedig ran all season on the same head gaskets with well over 50+ runs and the leak down is better between the center exhaust ports versus the outside cylinders. All other users have no reports of head gasket failure to date. We will be incorporating this modification in other Pontiac cylinder heads starting with the Edelbrock Performer as of next week. Thanks to Glenn and Calvin,
I have 36 runs since Glenn did the insert in my Tigers. I just did a leak down and the results show no difference in leak down between the center cylinders and the end ones. 16-1 compression, 3620 lbs, 5 speed. I"m a happy camper. |

Sounds like the price is worth it vs tear downs and repairs.

I pulled my Tigers at the end of October with over 60 passes with the insert.
The area between the center cylinders looked better than the end cylinders. Money well spent. Thank's to Calvin and Glenn. |

Why only 60 passes? I call 60 passes the month of April and the 1st part of May. Are the Tiger heads a once in a while race head? Does anyone use them and double enter often?

Double enter is a bracket racing term: entering in Super Pro and Pro.....Or like I do often enter a local bracket race in S/ST and Super Pro.......I'm literally running my butt off from the second I drop the back Door and un strap the car till hopefully the final!

J.C.,
Every installation of this insert has provided excellent results. We've incorporated this into other heads also with ZERO issues. Thanks. Calvin Hill Hill Performance 708-250-7420 |

I had Calvin put the insert in my cv-1 heads several years ago when I kept burning head gaskets and burn a gap between 4 and 6 chambers. I use cometic head gaskets. Went to mannual fuel injection fix problem and insert works great.

We have many sets of heads out with the inserts. Tiger's CV1's Edel's Winsler's. To my knowledge none have had a problem. On my engine with close to 15:1 compression I have had no problems. When tearing down, the area of the gasket where the insert is, shows witness marks of the insert on the gasket. The gasket shows no sign of heat or leakage. The insert is pulling the heat away from the area so that the alum web in the head does not get hot enough to deform, witch reduces clamp pressure. Low clamp pressure reduces the inserts ability to remove heat thus allowing the gasket and head to burn through.

Glenn. Did you pick up 4 hundreds in 60ft just by going to a bigger starting line chip? Congrats on the WIN!!! My converter is way too tight. I was going to start at 4600 and go from there.
