Default 78 grand am $$$?

I have the opportunity to buy 78 grand am-lemans for less than $2000, car is a v8, 305 chevy, floor shifter with tilt stering column. Is the price ok?

Take a good long look at the under side of this car. The late A-bodies had a big problem with the rear bumpers rusting off because of the Alam. bumpers where they bolt to the steel reinforcement coming completely apart & falling off then rotting the trunk floors out. If it's ok the price is OK, just order a new front wire harness & you can drop in a Pontiac right in. Make sure the floors are solid to.

No rust So Cal car? Two grand sounds pretty fair! Check the frame from the axle back, the G-bodies were known for rot in that area. It'd be a nice cruiser or daily driver as is, or it's a great starting point for upgrades. Good luck

Looks like a good buy, if rust free as has already been stated. The rear frame rails are probably the worst place for rust. Buy it, drop in a 400-455 Pontiac, and have fun dusting off a lot of Mustangs and Camaros.

totally..i have a good running 400 id like to drop in one of those late 70s gbodies..grand am, grand prix or firebird esprit. check the frame out for sure but that seems reasonable for sure.
