Thats absolutely beautiful. Nothing better than the dog dish caps. If yo believe that its on its second set of tires, how many original miles does the car have? Just curious.

Nice car! I'm always partial to the Parchment interiors...

My car's unplanned restoration is commencing. We've got the new front tubular A-arms, steering linkage, spindles, shocks, rotors and power steering box in. Typical hot rod stuff - the headman siamese port headers don't give enough clearance to the new steering box. New ones are on order.

Default 65 GTO

I purchased this 65 GTO back in Feb 2014 and just took it out on the road this past weekend after replacing front end bushings, ball joints, coil springs, brakes and rotors.

I had a 65 GTO back in HS and sold it before I went into the Air Force so it feels great to be turning heads again.

Lets see. I was 20 yrs old and going to school. I bought it from the original owner in 1983 rebuilt '65 389 back then with a crane blazer cam. 4 bbl 4sp 3.23 gears. Runs good. It was my daily driver for a long time. Ready to build a new engine. Not sure which to build my 400 or 428.

I thought I'd post an updated pic with new wheels/tires and after a little clay bar action.

I forget if I posted a update after the restoration. Here's my '65 shortly after I bought it:

And here it is after an 11 month restoration. I lived in a different house when it came back home!

Word of caution. Tie up those plug wires to keep them away from the steering shaft or they will get tangled when you turn, yanking the wires, pulling the cap off the distributor and breaking the rotor.

Not that I've done that

Thanks, the old girl has a few body warts, but otherwise in decent shape and I have time now. Attached is a pix of the mill, it will be painted correct 65 blue before going in.

BR's,

Mark
