What fun!! Let's spend $100K on a resto and then go right out & sell it for $70K!
Am I missing something here? |

Math won't be and never really was there in this economy for resto margin. Illusion the norm, rare case profit. when you factor unpaid hours in, it is one of the worst ventures to sink money in, especially when you factor time involved in (dead return time). Love of car only sane reason to resto.

Doing a $100,000 resto on a3500 mile car kind of kills the low mile original.. The car isn't going to smell and feel the same..

Heads are easy to find, what do you guys think it will go for?

There is more going on here than replacement block and heads. The pcv valve is in the valley pan. That probably means the engine no longer has the 80 pound oil pump. With those differences, anything else is possible as well.

Anyone seen any updates or progress pics on Larry Navarro's former Red '73 SD T/A? It was moving along pretty well earlier this year, I think it was in paint on a rotisserie at that time.

Wow... I've seen that happen often. Wouldn't have expected it with an SD owner, though. Very nice score for someone.

The car was owned by a gentleman who passed away (not sure how recently) and the guys who were selling it on e-Bay were friends of his who had bought it from the widow. They knew the car was special but didn't know too much about it. Spent it's entire life in the southwest, nice & dry and stored indoors. I'm anxious to see it!

Here's a picture of her from last March. Promoted two Factory Freaks in this presentation. Rare indeed to have two of the 6 known ('70~'73) One of One's in one location:
