It's good to see this thread revived. That line at the beginning "It does run and move" doesn't really inspire me to read the rest of the ad. I am intrigued by his headers, though: It looks like he took a wrought-iron fence, and welded those together from the end posts.

IIRC - those mentioned rear facing seats were a technical dodge to avoid import tariffs by "scooby doo?"

It runs strong until you hit the gas...then it shuts off...but it's 'ready to go'.

I too am intrigued by homemade square-tube headers...

According to the ad he has the seats, and everything else this Brat needs to be "cleanest in the USA." I love people who price their projects as if all the stuff that needs fixing is already fixed simply because they're including the parts to fix what they imagine might be the problems...

If it weren't for that, this Firebird wouldn't be too bad (if you're a Rusty Wallace fan). I'd tell him to keep the sound system and offer $1500 for the car W/O it.
Oh, I would also have to drop a small displacement Pontiac V8 into it. Looks like someone did a good job replicating the MGD paint scheme on it.

I would have a master plan for that sled.
As long as he had all the peices to put the engine back together, I'd fill it with Hard-Block and drag race the snot out of it.

20 years ago, there used to be an early 50s straight eight Pontiac abandoned in the woods near the Indiana Toll Road. It was somewhere in the vicinity of mile 100 and you could see it from the highway. Me and my friend stopped to check it out in 1992, and I recently found the pictures I took. I'm pretty sure it was the same year as this craigslist car. I got the pictures scanned to a disc last month so I plan on posting them sometime soon.
Posting the CL pics here for comparison before the ad expires:

P.S.
That '52 Chieftan is pretty 'fancy'. First, I noticed the extra bumper guards, and it also has that ritzy clock to go with a pushbutton radio.

Supposedly these drop onto a S10 frame pretty well. Always thought a S10 4WD chassis with a 4 door like this would make a nice winter driver.
