Brad: I'll try to be brief so I don't hijack the thread.

Boss Bird is 500 lbs lighter than Grocery Getter. If we would have had a carbon fiber & titanium budget, along with a billet aluminum block for the Boss Bird, figure on losing another 200-300 lbs.

The Grocery Getter wasn't maxed out, but it had hit a plateau that would have required a big $$ expenditure to make the next jump. Lighter weight, higher head flow, lots of camshaft R&D and more clutch slippage would be the most promising areas.

In our case it made sense to spend the big chunk of money doing something entirely new and different.....and so the nitro craziness begins. And for the money, we have brought (2) Beswick replicas into the world instead of just running one into the ground.

Since circumstances forced Justin to start over with a new car, I totally understand him going to the next level, rather than returning to the same spot. The new car is bad a**, but I do admit that I think the old stock-bodied Crow had a coolness factor that is unmatched. But for serious competition, he did what made sense.

JMHO,
Eric

My daughter starts racing this year and I cant watch it with her because of the language.
My 68 bird stock block aluminum top end same fiberglass doors front end rear bumper lexan was at 2730. TRZ front end, chrome moly trans member. TH400, 9". Add me and fuel 2950ish.

The Crow mod should be at least as fast as Butlers tempest. It seems from one of the threads, the tempest has been in the 4.1X ?
I heard 4.26 1/8th mile et from a 2012 video.
What is the weight difference between the two?

Chief just went a 4.48 on drag radials 1st time out with the car. You got to give him props! Wonder how fast he will go with big tires.
He is representing Pontiacs pretty damn well, with a head that flows 350 cfm!!
