I've been on a lot of forum s over the years. The top ones for activity and information are:
...PY (I still call it that)
...JK Forum (modern jeep wranglers)
...vwvortex (busiest ever)

I'm on here daily. Lately, work and shorter days keeping me away from the car.

I think all boards ebb and flo. If a bunch of people are working on cars you will get a lot of traffic.

Plus once we all figure out how to clearance a water pump, the bulk of those questions go away. Which can make it look like a lot less traffic when a bunch of known issues get solved.

"Known Issues" I love it when a new software gets released with that at the end of the manual. If they were known, why didn't you fix them ahead of time?

Nah, this is a great board with a great mix of folks. I read it daily but rarely log in as there's just not enough time. I work my ass off and try to keep the family happy, all while maintaining my car. I assume most folks are the same way.

I'll make up for it with a couple pics.

Ah, car porn, everybody’s favorite! It’s usually a loosing battle when I participate in other subjets, so I’ll stick to the car porn.

Home-garage paint job.

Price of paint? $300. Amount of work? Priceless. Where’s the overspray? On the garage floor.

Picture # 1: I bought it in 1985 for $150. Everyone laughed and told me that I got ripped off. They were right because it was a $35 car. The picture was taken about 11 months before I put it on the road on 11/5/86.

#2: Stripping the 1987 paint. Notice that the car was spending some quality time with its paint to match hubcaps.

Picture #1: I did every nook and cranny on the car, from busting plastic to color sanding with the pictured “blocking tools.”

I hope it's not in decline.....doesn't seem like it. This is a great forum, if fact, I believe it's the best forum on the net. The one thing that I do not like about any forum is rudeness. Realizing that people are all different, I prefer to be friendly and not jump on someone, that I do not know, just because they ask an odd question, or do not state a question in the right manner, or because the are are a little quick to be offended when they do not get the answer they think they should be getting from the forum members. If a question is asked, I prefer to answer it to the best of my ability and move on. Just my two cents worth. With that said, I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!

I love this forum. I have learned so much. Get great answers to anything I post. I get here everyday. More learning than posting. I hope it is not dying out. I still need help!

I am on several relic hunting forums and they are also slow this time of year. A lot of folks are not as fortunate as us southerners and have to put their cars and metal detectors away for the winter. We are able to enjoy riding around with the top down this time of the year and we can relic hunt without getting carried away by the gnats!

Facebook has robbed a lot of action from most all boards. The mods do have an effect also. An example of a real dying board [already dead] is http://www.moparchat.com/forums/.

Iv`e been on there since 2005. Used to be FULL of action. Check it out now. Don`t let the current views fool you. It`s dead. I had problems in the past. The mods were no help. Never have been a keyboard baddass. They had a lot of those there. I could have made a road trip or two from some of the sh!t spewed at me. Guess I wasn`t the only one.

http://www.moparchat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125393

See what I mean?

By the way, I have never cried to the mods here. Never had to. The board members ARE the board.

Board seems fairly lively to me, but in my world the even the weather excites me And a bowl of ice cream makes me happy, so don't ask me.....

I get a kick out of the crowd that falls under the "Pontiac" umbrella. We have rat car warriors to correct paint daub maniacs. Argumentative factoid heads to timid question askers, helpful souls to clubhouse venom if that is yer thing, 2 barrel 6 banger heads to tricked out RAIV nuts....... great place. Since I have tried to skip posts I don't agree with, and try to not respond to aimed digs, life is simple. I feel I could go to many cities in my bird and probably bum a couch, and that is effin cool.

If this is dyin', there is a lot worse...................

I usually follow the 64,65 and 66,67 A-Body sections and we haven't had a good 'Project Thread' in a while. - always looked forward to updates from Andre's 66 Dick Boneske's 64 and Ron Cozzo's 64 project...but they have been completed for a while now.

Because I always go to these 2 sections, I have probably missed some great builds of other Pontiac models, as well as missed out on meeting other great people that own Pontiacs.

Don't know if this is the place to suggest it, but how about a 'Project ' section?

This would be a forum for members to show progress on their project, regardless of the model.

As for me, I enjoy watching and learning from builds on any Pontiac.
........Just a suggestion,

Great Forum with Great People sharing a Passion for Great Cars.

Thanks PY/Ames

One thing you can do is try the "new posts" option. I do that sometimes when I'm looking to see what others are doing in other sections, like the `Birds crew. Those guys are always up to something ;-)

I used to come here a couple times per day when I could access this site from work. Now that I cannot...I just don't have the time to come here every day.

As the administrator of these forums, it's my responsibility to check the batteries on a regular basis. I'm pleased to say we are currently at full power.

I haven't been on here in months, nothing to check on, no questions to ask and a lot of the same guys are still bickering about the same things so I took a break from it all.
Usually on here Winter Spring the most, summer some, fall not so much.

Got one more race this year then it's time to start working on all my Pontiacs during the offseason, probably be on here more then.
