have a set of 5 c heads , what info can I get on these and what year car are they from

If you look further on there they should be 74-5 and the diagram shows where the date will be located on them so you can find the date they were cast.

5C's were cast during the '75 model year up into mid February of '75 when they were replaced by 6X's.
Years ago, when I had a core 400 engine deal going, I pulled an original assembled '75 400 with a 5C and 6X head that both dated in mid to late Feb '75

They are basically the same as a 6x head. Good heads.

Basically all Pontiac heads are the same. If you want a good heads, Iron heads you buy any 2 bbl head & put the work you would have in them. The 2 bbl heads usually haven't been beat up as much & once you put the bigger valves in them & port them they will good heads for just about any engine. It all depends how much work you put into them. Get good port work & good big valve with new guides springs & rockers & you can have a good set of iron heads fro a reasonable amount.
