Default Dash Cap

Has anyone here used one of the dash caps for their 70 & up Firebird? I have used them on a 70 GTO & a truck, and they looked pretty good for a driver. The only tell was that it was a close fit around the glove box door. Other than that it looked an fit good. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks, Bob C.

They are OK for a driver....MOST people won't notice....

The ashtray doesn't fit quite right with the full cap....

Top half looks OK, but I modified mine by removing the lower half. This results in
a fit just above the Glove Box Door, and a few inches of seam visible, but much better
than the poor fit seen on the lower half around the radio, Glove Box and ash tray. Most
existing dashes will be OK on the lower half. Trick is to make your cuts below the sight line wherever possible. These Caps are just OK and certainly better
than looking at cracks, but they are what they are, and I'll use it until a Cap is made
available at a earthly price. Prices now are from Saturn or some other far away Planet

ive seen a few of them installed, looks pretty goood if installled right. tight fit as mentioned around g/b door & ask tray... & there is a spot on the right side where teh bezel mounts that you can see, its where the cap stops & doesnt go far enough in for some reason. cant imagine why they cant make it go further or all the way in. but for the price, its far better than cracks!

rfcoleman: i will be listing a cap i have for sale for 70-77 cars pretty soon. its the higher quality cap with the correct grain texture & much cheaper than buying new. PM me for details if you're interested. paid $190 shipped if i recall, will sell for $125 shipped, still in the box & never even test fitted as i found a used uncracked dash.
