I intend to purchase a 1971 GTO in 2016 but I have some very specific criteria so please read carefully so we don’t end up wasting a lot of each other’s time. I don’t want to sound negative I just have a good idea of what I am after and I am not going to jump at something that doesn’t make sense.


I will only consider completely running and driving cars with show quality paint and body work so please don’t contact me on partial restorations or project cars. Paint and body work being of high quality far outweighs mechanicals but I am not looking for a project in that area either. I am not looking for a concourse car that would get a perfect score at a National event but something certainly at the very high end of driver quality on up the scale of nut and bolt restoration.


My budget would be for a nice Coupe……….Judges and convertibles are likely out of my range.


Color Preferences in order:
1.) Tropical Lime
2.) Cameo White
3.) Cardinal Red
4.) Nordic Silver
5.) Limekist Green
6.) Starlight Black
7.) Castillian Bronze
8.) Remaining colors are probably not likely for me


Option Preferences:
*** I would greatly prefer a 4 speed car over an automatic***
400 or 455
Power Steering and Disk Brakes are a must
AC would be a plus but not required


Documentation\Originality:
I prefer cars with solid documentation (Receipts, PHS, Protect-o-plate etc) but will consider non-numbers matching lightly modified cars as well if they are priced accordingly.

Location:
I am located in Upstate NY and I am willing to travel up to about 12 hours drive for the right car. I am not likely to buy a car sight unseen but I still ask that you provide as many photos and details as possible.

Thanks for the response.....I had not seen the one in the Hudson Valley listing so I will follow up.

On the Albany listing I requested additional photos and deatails. The seller gave an initial response but never followed through. That one might be strong money if the drivetrain has not been rebuilt and they cannot provide details on the body work in 87.
