Default Abody site

Had a computer guy over today and he read all the post. He would like to see posted pictures what is in the address bar after typing the address and before entering and after. He noticed one picture and wondered if anything else was in the address bar.

I have Uverse at home and have not been able to log on to site in a very long time, at work we use Sprint and can log on at any given time. I read back when I first could not log on at home it was because board nations security level was very low.

I am on there right now on my other computer , but it took me about 10 trys to get on by rebooting & data logging to get on. I had to shut my computer down several times before I coulds get it to boot the site up. But I'm on right now along with this site on my lap top. In fact I just posted something in the for sale section , it was a rear lic plate lamp from 77 canamman, I:E Rick . Or if any one else has one I'm in need of one.

As I replied to you in our private message on that site on a few weeks ago, the lamp is long gone....

No one knows who runs that site?

Why wouldn't they use another host besides that one?

That one looks like a spam maker hosting domain.

It's a site with a long legacy John. There are three moderators who took it over from the prior owner. I am one of those moderators. Each of the moderators has limited time so we do what we can to fit it in - it's not exactly our full time job, it's unpaid volunteer stuff.

We got some advice from the website administrator just now. Try this: clear all temp files in the browser, then close the browser, then go to a DOS prompt and type in:

ipconfig /flushdns

Then hit "enter".

Then close the DOS prompt window, launch the browser, and try to connect again.

No solution as yet for iPhone/iPad/Android/Palm Pilot/Leapfrog Epic etc

I hear that.
It's a labor of love!

Do you have access to the 'inner works'?
Like is all the data backed up?
(hopefully off-line)

I just thought about logging in here at my work computer. It went right to it. I'm on the abodysite forum now, logged in and reading some posts.

I switched to ATT U-verse at home about a year and a half ago, and shortly after started having problems getting on the abodysite. But I don't know if that's the reason or not.

Apparently there is an issue with cached DNS's. I am not a computer scientist/engineer so don't ask me what that means. Here's some guidance from BoardNation admins on how to clear the cache on a variety of devices - hope this helps.

+++ For Windows PCs:
Step 1: Open the Command Prompt
Windows XP: Click on the Start Menu and click "Run". Type "cmd" and press Enter.
Windows Vista/7: Type "cmd" in the search bar and press Enter.
Windows 8: Press the "Win" key (windows logo key) and X on your keyboard.
Click on "Command Prompt".
Step 2: Flush DNS by typing "ipconfig /flushdns" and press Enter. Type "Exit" to close the command prompt window.
Step 3: Close and re-open your web browser.

+++ Mac OSX
Step 1: Open the Terminal
Navigate to Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal
Step 2: Flush DNS
Type the following command and press Enter.
Mac OSX 10.7 & 10.8 (Lions): sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder Mac OSX 10.5 & 10.6 (Leopards): dscacheutil -flushcache Mac OSX 10.4 (Tiger): lookupd -flushcache
Step 3: Close and re-open your web browser.

+++ Linux
Different Linux distributions have different commands. Try the following commands in your terminal:
sudo /etc/init.d/nscd restart
sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart
sudo /etc/init.d/dns-clean start
sudo service nscd restart
Then close and re-open your web browser.

+++ iOS/Android Devices
Step 1: Close the browser app
Close the app completely (also make sure it is not running in the background).
Step 2: Restart Wi-Fi
Turn off the Wifi on your device and turn it back on again.

+++ Smart TVs and Streaming Media Devices
Step 1: Restart the browser app
Close the app completely (also make sure it is not running in the background), the open it again.
Alternatively, restart the device (power off and power on again).

Hope this works. Apologies to PY for using their living room to administrate the A-Body Site forum, but when people can't log into ABS, how can we contact them??

and Click on it and full ABody forum access...WITHOUT A SINGLE CHANGE TO DEVICE USED TO ACCESS ABody Forum on my end...

Just an FYI for whatever it matters.

My old HP died when the fan went out of it . Picked up a cheap new laptop ( acer ) and have no issues at all . As soon as we moved the links to the new one the icon on our ipad went green and it works too .

Was just over there no issues .
