That CR bobcat looking car nose is definitely pushed in but the factory bumpers did have a slight forward "tilt" to them. I've seen it on several NOS bumpers over the years.

here's a diagram to help you see it better, lines in red should all be parallel (with the slightest tilt to the middle as North said), see how the middle follows the blue line on this car. typical small hit to the nose that rolls the bottom under. Notice how the driver's side grille isn't centered correctly in the opening because the lower bar is pushed in deforming the mounting tabs. I got pretty good looking for this at swap meets. My trick was to stand the nose up and look down to see that the lower bar and upper bar were parallel, usually like this one, they'd start parallel at the ends, then as you track towards the middle, the lower bar would suddenly come out proud through the back side indicating the bottom is rolled under.

That picture also shows that the valance isn't lining up right with the side of the fender. Probably rumpled metal that was pulled out not quite right.

Common problem as from 73 on all cars had a low protruding rear bumper so a 69 goat front ended often pushed in the bottom of the nose from hitting the top of the other guys rear bumper. This often led to flattened valances too.

I could have more fun with this car than those over priced Firebirds from BJ.

Question But...

wasn't that an early/late thing in '70? BTW...what did this car bring? I was there but didn't see this one.

Was a no sale with a high bid of $30k, if you are asking about the '69 CR Bobcat car.

Greg, the auction was buy it now or best offer - I don't think it sold.

Default 69 Royal Bobcat

It's back, I guess it didn't sell. Too bad it's not a real Judge I would jump on it, it really looks nice in the picture's.

Unless I missed something, it has a BIN that is exactly the same as the high bid in the first auction. Deadbeat bidder or was that a BIN auction before? I thought it was bid up to that price.

I saw this car in person there. It really did have a lot of nice things about it. I don't recall noticing the bumper being as bad as the pictures look. I will say I have seen pictures that make cars look better and worse than they really are. I was surprised it bid so low. Maybe I did not catch the bumper problem but I looked over that car real good. I would have bid on it if I had room for another car.

There is always something you have to "fix" on any car you get! LOL!
