Geez, I am amazed that all of those experts on Speedtalk, for the most part agree with my post # 1036.
One of the posters on the Topic, TUNER, is a very good carb and induction guy. We have had a lot of discussions, into the night, on how carbs and induction systems really work. It is too bad he is so far away on the left coast. The "river" running into the runners can be fuel or even water in some cases. We have lots of "camera in the intake" video on that fuel and or water "river" and how it migrates to the given cylinders. Tom V.

Can you explain the normally aspirated results we're seeing in the video referenced video from your point of view in layman terms, I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. Thanks, Ed

I have had allot of guy's asking what the difference is between my heads, the factory heads, and Lynn's heads. So I took a few pic's with them side by side so that everyone has a visual. My head is the taller of the three in the pic's. My head also resembles more of the factory heads aesthetics or appearance. I wanted my heads to look more like a factory head than an aftermarket piece. Note that the factory heads have a tear drop exhaust port configuration. The lower portion of the factory exhaust ports is basically dead space and does not help flow. I'm not sure why they did it that way. I cast the pushrod tubes into the heads and brought the leading edge of the tube to the intake surface. I done this so the tube can be stream lined to reduce turbulence and help the air get around the tube. This can be configured in a couple of different ways depending on what your philosophy about port taper is. I have ported some with the leading edge starting at the intake surface and some with a wing in the intake and interfacing it to the tube. We don't know for sure yet which is best. We will have more data after we get several different combo's together and dynoed.

Tube in a port is not a great idea (see picture attached)
You get all kinds of unwanted Turbulence and flow losses in the port from that design. "Split Port" design like Don (DCI) has in his head is a better design. Tom V.

Here is another short video of why dimples help golf balls fly further. This same technology can be used in cylinder heads to help atomize fuel and create less drag.

Here is another one. If you guy's haven't guessed yet. I spend allot of time researching fluid dynamics and air flow LOL.

Remember few yrs ago we talked about that. You showed me some samples from someone did. I thought afterwards if it worked why hasn't it been used before?

Guys, want to bring up to speed on the dyno build.Don and I have been in contact. As of this time there is no build or dyno time avail.Joe has a few engines ahead.Im going in for shoulder surgery the 24th of the month and will be out of action for awhile.if things work out and no one has got a N/A DCI headed street engine on the dyno im still game to do it.Wish me luck on the shoulder.Tom

Good stuff Don. Similar YouTube videos (ancient) were used by my aerodynamics instructor. I seem to recall the golf ball in flight is experiencing "Magnus lift" a lifting force experienced by rotating bodies, and the dimples reducing drag. I wonder if race car wings will ever incorporate "Winglets" to reduce induced drag?

I get asked that allot LOL. I think because there is not a lot of guy's doing it yet or have experimented with it yet you just don't hear about it. Aeronautics, NASA, Formula 1, and other industries are using this technology. It just has not trickled down to us neophytes in the hot rod world yet.

Be nice if you could dimple the pushrod split and see if it makes a difference on the bench.

That can be done. There is plenty of material to shape it any way you like. What we have found it likes on the flow bench. Is a shape close to an airplane wing. Kind of like a tear drop, but with more of a pointed leading edge. The more I play with the shape the more I learn. You can definitely hear it on the bench when it doesn't like the shape though. I think this is going to be a neet tuning tool once we get a handle on what engine likes.
